I need help with a sprinkler. The ones I have aren't cutting it and moving it constantly sucks.
This is what I'm working with. Yes there is a dead tree, the other one dies, then comes back and now it's dying again. Thinking it might be from green drop, I dunno.

Buy a bunch of these, get some quick connects for them and then just have to pull a hose. I got 6 for my yard and just leave them in place. Connect two of them at a time with a shorter hose with a quick connect. Haven’t played with settings since the initial setup. Definitely thought some kid would punt them, but have been fine so far. Also stops me watering the pavement

Quick connects? Never seen or heard of a quick connect. I can't afford underground, I have a car to build.

CT has a bunch of configurations (MM, MF, FF, etc), stock is a little low by now but they're still out there. Also cheaper plastic options out there, we had some but they all fell apart after sitting in the sun for a summer.

Underground irrigation is surprisingly cheap if you DIY.

I guess if you don't own an air compressor.

Don't you need a pretty beefy compressor (volume, not pressure) to blow out a sprinkler system?

I suppose if you want it 100% moisture free. I haven't had any issues using my 30g compressor, and it maxes out at 8.6cfm's.

Not unless you live on an acreage. Growing up my dad used our normal-sized garage compressor every year and it was fine.

TIL - My neighbours pay too much for someone with the tow-behind big-ass compressor to blow out their sprinkler systems.

At $50 it’s borderline not worth your time regardless of equipment.

I’d probably do it myself. But I get why people don’t.

Buy a spreader, I think they’re about $50. If you do it by hand it will likely be spotty and not evenly green.

Be sure to water a lot as well, in this heat I’m watering at least every 2 days for ~30 minutes each.

Hey guys need some input about Fall lawn maintenance/care. Moved into this house in June, tried to do the best I could refreshing the backyard and front yard but the heat waves we had really didn't help.
Now I'm hoping I can get a somewhat green lawn by next spring. Here is my plan for the next few weeks to prep my lawn for next year, let me know what else I should do or if I should do it a different way.

    1. Mow the lawn to the lowest setting. (This week or next)
    2. Dethatch front and back lawn, Aerate the bare areas
    3. Apply weed killer (then wait 1-2 weeks)
    4. Over seed the lawn, apply mulch with seed on the hard to grow areas (wait a couple of days)
    5. Apply fall fertilizers
    6. Water accordingly and wait for the frost

Depending on the growth for next spring, I was planning on grabbing a bag of seeds with fertilizer mixed in already like Scotts E-Z Seed, apply over lawn and hope that next summer my lawn will be really green.

I'd probably get rid of your weeds before detaching and aerating, and seed right after as you're making microsites for seed to grow.

EZ seeding your entire lawn wont be a cheap proposition. You'd be better with an aerate and then doing a topdress of topsoil/mulch that is mixed with seed. A bit labour intensive but probably better bang for your buck then EZ Seed.
