How often is everyone fertilizing and mowing?

I'm comfortable with mowing 1x per week but during the vigorous growing season, I should probably be mowing closer to once every 5 days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's just that life and work make it more feasible to go once per week.
I've never fertilized ever in my life. Can you teach me what it does and how to?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Our landscapers fucked up our lawn when we bought the house, so they remedied it with covering and leveling 10 yards of top soil last year. It's been a journey getting the yard back but fertilizing once a month, mowing twice a week and deep watering a couple times a week has gotten us to where I'm 96% happy.
I love lawn.

@iambrianspilner
I only end up doing it once or twice per season plus try to do the Fall Feeding.
Like he said, it's more like steroids. Much greener and lush plus it fucking grows to the extent that you can nearly hear it.
Yea I just fertilize a couple times a year. I guess I could do it more. I could also mow more. Or water more. Or care more.
My lawn is greenish and not 2 feet tall. Good enough.

If your lawn is mangled i'd also recommend doing the top dressing with a good lawn soil then overseeding. Takes a bit longer but works good. If your lawn is already decent, then raking, cutting, fertilizing, and water is a good strategy. Long storyy short the top 2 ingredients for a nice lawn are sunshine and water.
Tap, Rack, BANG!
I just broke down yesterday and bought 200 L of Killex for $25 instead of the 3L that I actually need for $30.
Its gud Marth.

Looks good. Dethatch, overseed, fertilize, water?
I'm curious as to your process as well as I'm standing here looking at something similar to the first pic on my own lawnThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Half my backyard looks like that and it bothers be quite a bit. What's the best time to do this? Right now (after the heat wave) or closer to end of summer/fall?
I think its less intensive to do it when its a bit cooler, as your water actually sticks around vs just evaporating. Way easier to grow grass when its a bit coolerThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
