They won't ship to Canada anymore..as of 2022. Sucks. Prodiamine is what you are after as an all around pre-emergent. I don't think prodiamine specifically targets dandelions though. It might help. Best to just blast them with your favorite 2,4D containing mixture as they appear. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Any of you guys have experience with fire blight?
My dads hedge got it and spread to one tree. Horticulturist came in and sprayed some stuff last year saying it would save the tree. Looks like its worse now and may have spread to a cherry tree.
I've been reading up on it and it sounds like a real pain in the ASS. Does neem oil ACTUALLY work on it? I have some around for my battle with the sawflies in my yard.

Whatever branches are affected by it need to be pruned off ASAP at least a foot past the visible blight. Spray alone isn't going to do shit unless it's caught super early. I'm fighting it on my 50yo crab apple right now. Sadly have had to take off quite a few branches and it's going to be ugly for years.

Unrelated to pests, I need to prune my crab apple tree to clean it to, is now a good time of year or wait until it stops freezing?
According to the arborist pruning mine, February is the best time (or basically anytime it's dormant). So now is better than later. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

How should I fix this strip of grass that either got hit by ice, salt or the snowblower? Just over seed it and let it recover, or does it need to be dug up and re-seeded from top soil?
Id start with overseeding, but i'd rake the hell out of it to try and get some soil contact. Or overdress w/ the seed.
if it doesnt take, you'll need sod.
Probably half the problem is that strip dried out first. Rake and water the fuck out of it for a couple days and see?

its definitely salt damage and overseeding should work just fine and fucken dandy
Tap, Rack, BANG!
Went to look at my backyard this afternoon. All fucked up by voles.
I raked up all the dead grass digged up by the damn voles. Laid a thin layer of soil. I need to get some seeds and fertilizers. I am hoping I can save it.
Just give it a month. Odds are most/all of it fills in after some water, raking, and time. If you want to guarantee it, definitely overseed with a soil/seed mixture and diligently water it. Now's the time for that.
When do I hit my lawn with the power rake? Is it too soon now? I want my lawn green first this year.
My war on the voles seems to have killed all the voles in both my uncaring neighbors yards. Putting out more preemptive poison just in case.
