I went down the path of leveling spots in my yard, but decided to stop after getting the super low areas. I have a pretty big yard, and could probably do this for eternity if I wanted. Decided I have too many other chores haha.

I've tried soil on top to flatten out small uneven spots in my old yard and it never really worked, so I figure there's no way it'll work on the beach ball sized hole in my new lawn.
There's got to be a better way... not sure if I'm better off trying to pull back the sod and fill underneath.

I’m not suggesting anyone do this, thought it was a pretty amusing video on lawn levelling.

I'm pretty sure the sand method is how golf courses do it as well.

Yeah golf courses top dress with sand. Courses that are well maintained will do it multiple times per year on greens/fairways.

Considering that guy has a golf-green push and Toro sit mower that they run at the courses.... i guess if you're addicted to your lawn

How many of you legitimately consider your lawn as one of your hobbies?

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

    Negative.

But I take pride in my lawn (and entire house/property) looking good. Its too bad more people DGAF and let their yards turn into completed shithole dumps.

Was short time this week (and was on vacation for 10 days prior) so I have only mowed my front lawn and the back is like a jungle. Does that make me a bad person?

Definitely not a hobby, but I paid a significant sum for my house and take pride in it looking good

I have one buddy who for sure makes his lawn his hobby, far beyond "taking pride" in it. I think that's cool, because it's a pretty accessible hobby, and one where effort will translate into results.

Around my house, it's about the opposite. We have very little lawn, and we treat it as a chore. I think it's been mowed twice so far this year? Helps that it's slow-growing fescue mostly. That and I make my wife do it, because I have annoying grass allergies, and if I mow the lawn, I need to do a nasal rinse and shower immediately afterwards or I'm a mess for the day. Allergies are annoying.

I at least mowed my front lawn to hide my terribleness from the neighbors, but I will accept my label

Claritin, Flonase, N-95 Masks, I've used them all. Landed on a winning combo this year, a DIY folded cloth mask and Dymista. Need a prescription for the spray, but no longer do I snort and spit like a chain smoker while doing yard work.
