Regular grass seed would work too no?
    Lol
EZ seed is a mix of a lot of magical nutrients that really helps it take off. Grass seed on its own is a pita to use for patch jobs

Trying to build a better sprinkler system for my place without buying an actual underground system. Anyone running multiple spikes that you can just go plug in? Sick of my current oscillating one that i have to move ~6 times to do my entire corner lot

Thats the current plan, just curious what people are doing for those, or any specific recommendations for actual sprinklers. I wouldnt mind just plugging in the hose and not having to fiddle with the flow direction and amount as i have to do with my oscillating.. might see what i can find at costco

I mean. Would basically putting in irrigation be the solution? The hoses and sprinklers themselves aren’t that expensive. Just a lot of work.

Could skip the control and hard hookup for now, maybe add in later if you want.

Been musing with this concept myself.

I've daisy chained impluse sprinklers before, with a timer to water while we're on vacation. Not much trick to it, I just laid the hoses along the edges so I wouldn't get the Nazca Lines look

So what’s Beyond’s favourite pre emergent dandelion killer?

I feel like generic googling is a massive waste of time on this topic.

I feel like killex spray the whole lawn type ( I realize not a pre emergent ) is a waste of time / money. Weed be gone definitely works but I don’t want to have to be out spraying every day catching them all.

Some kind of pre emergent to put a dent in the population sounds like what I want. I am game with the Most carcinogenic of options so long as I can get my hands on it.

Pre-emergents don't work in dandelions. They grow too fucking fast. Best way is a 2,4-D concentrate sprayed every month or two. It's what makes Killex work so well, but Killex is consumer grade, and priced that way too. A $30 bottle of AG grade will last years. I'm still using some CrossbowI bought on Amazon US a few years ago.

Yeah that 24D is basically the active ingredient in every dandelion spray, isn't it? Use the strongest version of that you can find. Twice a year is probably good once you get it under initial control.

^Did that stink like Killex? I've always wondered if that's the stinky ingredient or if it's Mecoprop or Dicamba.

It doesn't smell pleasant, but not as nasty as Killex so far as I can remember.

My issue with killex is that fine you killed the existing stuff… but they are back again a week later. 1 treatment a month I could live with.

I have a losing battle as I’m right by a big city field, and they don’t deal with shit anymore so it spreads like wildfire.

Corn gluten meal products don’t work on dandelions? At all?

Not unless they're celiacs or 25yo hipsters who think they are.

In your case, the only winning is a super healthy lawn. The only defence is dense enough turf to keep the seeds from digging in.

You could also spray nasty words with Killex into the field, and force the city to deal with it

Bad words? Spray words like "the government giving out vaccines preferentially to certain ethnic groups is wrong and not on the path to equality"?

    Dr. Jordan Peterson.

But seriously, I find that simply picking the weeds works pretty well and as long as you just give it 10 min here & there, you don't feel like you were raped by a cement truck.
Apply methyl-ethyl-death-chem maybe once a year and maintain by pulling. Get one of those American Weeder tools I think they are called.

I have ones of those torture machine weed pullers. Leaves some big holes in the lawn is my main issue ( I usually fill with EZ seed ).
