Those handheld spreaders suck. Just get the small wheeled Scotts spreader. Move quickly and try not to overlap too many spots.

Also pro-tip: Dont spread it in the morning when the grass is wet as the fertilizer sticks to the spreader wheels, cart legs, your feet and generally creates a fucking clumpy mess.

Hand job spreader works well for seed but agree it would be shitty for fert's.
I prefer borrowing my neighbour's drop spreader. Fuck these things taking up my space. I'd honestly buy one for my neighbour if he didn't have one and just borrow it whenever.
    And maybe fuck his wife...

I had one of the hand held units. Used it twice, then it got all bunged up and was difficult to spin the little crank. Get a push one

Was it the manual crank or battery powered?
I have the battery powered one and with the fertilizer it keeps getting stuck because of the dust.
Have to keep blowing the dust around the wheel to keep it from being stucked.
Thinking about replacing it with a manual crank one.

I scored one for $5 when buddy was selling everything and moving back to Vancouver. Also scored a hose on a cart thing for $10 But I use the Spreader for Ice Melter in winter as well so it does double duty.

    That reminds me.
Use dolomite lime in the Scott's hand spreader and it won't make it 5min before it's certifiable garbage.

I'm happy with the Killex from Canadian Tire that has the hose attachment. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/k...3871p.html#srp
I also used some of this grass fertilize a few months ago, since it was cheap. It took forever to ship. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tried using the $150/bottle Par III professional weed killer I got on Ebay, that is supposed to be safe for grass. I'm glad I just tested it in a few spots. It seems to kill everything. https://www.amazon.ca/Par-Lawn-Weed-...YA6YFR2T8E5HBP

I'll be sticking with Killex to kill weeds in the grass. Here's the Par III results.

I just found out Killex is banned everywhere East of Manitoba!! They don't like the 2, 4-D in it.

I have this fence around my property. Along the fence line, there is a kind of rock bed that has been built with wood to nicely box them in. Last year, this area remained neat and tidy. But this year, I see that seeds of wild grass have landed and began growing. This creates a royal pain in the ass. I am continuously hand pulling to try and keep the area neat and free of any grass. Thankfully, no weeds, just wild grass that is easily pulled out as roots are essentially within the rocks on top of a layer of fabric.

What product would be best to use on a q weekly or q2week basis to totally kill all vegetation growing in the area of the rocks?

Sounds like a slam dunk use for a regular spray of roundup.

round-up I think. Probably need two or three times a year, but it's pretty effective, and if I remember correctly, doesn't damage the soil long-term. Be careful with your spray obviously, since you don't want it on the lawn.

All this rain this year I have needed roundup every week or two to keep the weeds dead where I don’t want them unfortunately. They have completely taken over in the 4 weeks I have been in my cast.

Still, it’s cheap and it’s fun to run around with the spray gun for 15 minutes. Immensely relaxing.

If it wasn't so close to the fence I'd usually reccomend the weed torch, because that's really therapeutic.

Mental health is at least as important as lawn health.

What are you guys spraying weeds with when you have a satan spawn puppy running around and eating grass, weeds and everything in between? Both weeds in the lawn and weeds down the side of the house in gravel.
