^^^Even 129 is a good deal because anything else will run you $200 easy. Maybe the crowfoot lowes was having a store specific sale, i think mine was $96

Now dethatch a few neighbors lawns for $30 each, and make your money back. Plus have a whole block looking spiffy.

Not explicitly lawn stuff, but also picked this baby up for $100. Open box, missing an $18 part. Saved $150 off retail so I suppose I made out ok. Looking forward to using it this winter too.

See if they'll match the price to crowfoot, I can send you a picture of my receipt if needed.
It worked, got my refund today. At first, they simply said their sales run thur to wed, so there's no way something that was bought earlier in the week would be on sale. One guy sent me packing without even calling crowfoot to check... obviously I called them myself, then want back in and asked for someone else, at which point they gave me the same answer. I told them I just got off the phone with crowfoot to confirm the price, and that it's still on sale and that they should also call to confirm. They spent another few minutes jerking each other, then finally gave me the refund for the difference. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Lowes employees have to be the most consistently useless hardware store employees I've ever come across. Doesn't matter what department they're in, it's like its everyone's first day every day.
Glad it worked out, aside from the time wasted trying to get it done lol. The day I found the Kobalt one, I initially tried price matching the greenworks one, but they kept giving me the run around and coming up with excuses why they couldn't price match. The manager came by, seemed like she was going to match the price ($200 regular vs $80 price match), then she saw the price difference and started making up excuses on why she couldn't.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. On a side note, whats the secret to getting short, but green grass. I cut mine a little over 3 inches, anything below that just looks yellow/green.
You need to follow the 1/3 rule, you need to cut often so you dont cut more than 1/3 of your grass length. It also helps to have a flat lawn so the bumps don't cause your rotary to scalp some areas. I kept my lawn at 1.25" last year cutting often with a reel mower, but its a lot more work to maintain. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yup cutting often is key. I cut my grass twice a week these days. I keep it around 2”, but my lawnmower scalps some uneven areas. It looks a lot better at 2.5-3”, I just like it shorter.
The type of grass in your yard also makes a difference. Some types like to be longer and some grass is ok being kept cut very short.
Also, water water water. And fertilizer w high iron in it.

Counterpoint : less water, never fertilize, mow every three weeks.

That is what I do.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Then I end up carrying an awkwardly large 120 lb garbage bag of grass trimmings to the garbage bin desperately praying the bag doesn't rip open or my back gives out. Everytime it rains hard and the sun comes out blazing, I literally see the grass grow taller when I'm in my yard.

Not as good as Mango
Lawn looks good, black cherry is shit. Go for the lime. If you're feeling brave, buy some IPA's.

It's been touched on a few times in this thread regarding dog pee, for any of the burned spots should I give them a good raking to expose dirt and reseed/fertilize the entire lawn?
Thinking we might end up with artificial turf eventually but if I can keep it alive/natural then I'll give it a go.
We do have a dog run but he still manages to pee in the backyard while he's just out and about.

EZ seed has worked for me in the past.
Best thing you can do is water extremely often to try and mitigate the kill off. But dogs kill grass. Just a fact.

Buy a shaker and get the big bag when it goes on sale. It's an amazing product.
Sweet, will grab some and give it a go, thanks
Ez seed works well but you can also buy scotts overseed and do the entire lawn and works in about two weeks. I find it cheaper and doesn't require as much water.
RIP My front lawn.
Dethatched, aerated, Beyond fertilized. It was doing really well.
But Telus thinks it need more fibre.
