@90_Shelby what kind of products are you using to get such a deep green (if any)?
Need some trees in here, low maintenance and not messy. any recommendations?
Looks like I used Golfgreen nitropower, 34-0-12 last time. I think this stuff works a bit better then what i’ve tried in the past and I water a lot. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Killramos mentioned the trees, if I recall correctly, they’re makamik crabapple and I planted them 4-5 years ago.
This is before:

I like neat cars.
no specific tree species recommendations, but look into the City's free tree program. Just checked and looks like it ended for this year, but something to look out for next yearThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I didn't even know that was a thing, will look into it next year. thanksThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don't know if it was this exact program, but when there was something similar in Royal Oak a few years back, the tree's all seemed to get planted on city property, adjacent to the peoples homes who received the trees. Not sure if a coincidence, or a stipulation. Will be good to check out next year! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Now only if the voles would eat all the weed :-).
We have flowers, plants and veggies. Will do spot treatment of weed.
Either use the Scotts products or keep or digging them out.
Use any fertilizer with iron, Scott’s makes a few different fertilizers with added iron. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Can anyone tell me what this stuff is growing in my grass...?
Sod was put in last year, all I've done this year is a bit of water and used Scotts Green max fertilizer (watered it in).

Looks like ryegrass going to seed. Sprinkler system? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No need. Simply move the contrast slider. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I do have an irrigation system installed. That's causing it?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ryegrass tends to do that a lot more noticeably when it's getting a LOT of water... Probably worth reducing the times or switching to 2nd day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ok thanks. Odd thing is, I've only run the irrigation twice so far this year. Once to water in the fertilizer (about 10min), second time I ran it for 20min early in the morning. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Im guessing rye grass is considered bad for a lawn?
Ahh I was working on the usual it comes on for an hour+ every morning and in some cases is way overused to the point the grass is a swamp that squishes under foot. That's when the grass tends to be totally dormant and seed shoots are all that grows.
Perennial rye and bluegrass is the usual mix... It's not a weed it's just part of the grass mix in this part of the country. It's that lighter thinner blade that's usually all that's left on older lawns, because it does re-seed itself so nicely
How good are these for edging along sidewalks? I have a corner lot (Aspen size) with lots of sidewalk. Finding it somewhat difficult to use my trimmer to get a perfect straight line.
Get a trimmer with a wheel on the side for edging.
