Vinegar salt brine is pretty effective and won’t kill a dog, that’s 80% of the way to roundup anyway. Might just not last as long and need more applications.

Could salt work? This could potentially prevent future growth as well?

Killex says its safe for pets and children after 2 hours spraying in the sun. I've never tried yet as my pup is exact same eating grass. To be safe, I'd rather spray it, let it sit for 24 hours.

Every year my front lawn comes back fairly well with overseeding and fertilizing. Starts to be thick and green towards the end of June. This year was great, aside from Telus digging some big holes beside the street.
But come mid-July it starts turning to crap. Blades seem to shrink and grow very slowly. Tips look ragged kid of like using a dull blade, but they were fine 2 weeks ago, and my blade is quite sharp. Back yard is just fine. Same treatment.
I used to think it was heat-stress, or lack of water, but we haven't really had any hot days, and there's been plenty of rain.
So I don't know what gives...

My front lawn (south facing) is looking very similar to yours. Blades look torn from dull blade yet back looks amazing.

Exact same on my south facing front lawn.
I'm guessing it's the extra sun it gets so I plan on watering it in the morning 2 a week starting this week.
Haven't been watering it at all since we've been getting rain every week.

Yea I haven't watered it once this year hah. Its super green but looks like its still drying out from time to time. Watering in the AM is such a pain in the ass.

Looks like some of my grass has a powdery mildew, any tips on how to get rid of it? Its mostly near the fence line, where it doesn't get much sun.

That is some nice improvement, huge difference - well done.

I just had a bunch of new sod put in and it is proving quite difficult trying to get them to grow "together" and get rid of the gaps.

Killex only kills weeds. You need Round Up. Kills errthang
Killex gets broadleaf. But if it's grasses they want to keep out then Roundup is what gets it.

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Bruh, you can't post a progress pic like that without saying what you did to get it that way! Looks great!

Fertilized last spring, full detatch fertilize and seed this spring. I hand bombed a top dress of just straight topsoil, and it looked kinda crappy after doing that but the mega hail storm pulverized every bit of soil in.. overseeded again after that, including mixing seed into a potting mix for the thin spots as the mulch/compost in the potting mix made a huge difference.

Having constant rain has helped, have barely watered this year

Helps to have mowed greens at a golf course as a kid to get straight lines too!

So I’ve done two round of killex and the dandelions are noticeable better, but the white clover seems to be flourishing now... anyone know how to kill that shit off? It’s like 70% of my front lawn, so doing it by hand is a hard no haha

I ordered this stuff out of the States: https://www.seedworldusa.com/product...050c5650&_ss=r
It works good, and is also a pre-emergent. It's a little pricey but should last you many years.
Here is the label, says it controls white clover as well.

Had a yellow patch on grass where my dog would piss. Raked all the dead grass out, raked the soil to create some penetration deeper in soil. Used some Scotts EZ Seed mix, and some Awesome grass seed. Watered that patch 2 times a day and hooorayyyy we got grass growing now.

Yeah not sure what is in that stuff but it works very well for patchy areas of lawns. I have used it a few times with some good grass see and as you found it works fairly well.
