.. I have annoying grass allergies, and if I mow the lawn, I need to do a nasal rinse and shower immediately afterwards or I'm a mess for the day...

Claritin, Flonase, N-95 Masks, I've used them all. Landed on a winning combo this year, a DIY folded cloth mask and Dymista. Need a prescription for the spray, but no longer do I snort and spit like a chain smoker while doing yard work.
Far be it from me to tell other people how to spend their money (wait, this is Beyond), but at this point - and in lieu of having your wife do it hahaha - doesn't hiring someone to cut your lawn make sense?

Was short time this week (and was on vacation for 10 days prior) so I have only mowed my front lawn and the back is like a jungle. Does that make me a bad person?
Glad I’m not the only one that does this lol. I do my front weekly but back biweekly. Kids + dog means my back yard ain’t that nice anyways so whatevs

    Negative.

But I take pride in my lawn (and entire house/property) looking good. Its too bad more people DGAF and let their yards turn into completed shithole dumps.
Same, but i can see that changing as i get older lol My old place had a decent yard but because both neighbors were like me we just did the bare minimum with cuts. My new place has a way nicer yard and the problem is both neighbors are pretty good with their yards so i want to at least have mine presentable to keep pace haha. Not gonna lie but i actually dont mind taking care of the new yard, been yotubing shit non stop and have been telling my buddies about de thatching

That dethatching stuff...I wasn't convinced. Bought the blade, did a couple passes on lawn and not gonna lie, the lawn looked yellow and bare. Thought I messed it up by going too low. But wow amazed after a few weeks how green and thick the grass growing after was.

Dog pee is instant murder to lawns and fast. I can see even now within a day or two where my dog goes.

Yup. Without as much rain as we’ve had I’m sure it would significantly worse.

We’re working on getting her lazy ass to take 4 more steps to piss on the rocks or massive dog run I made down the side of the house.

You can follow her out with the house and immediately "rinse" the piss spot, as well. It dilutes the urine enough that it will probably green-up an area, LoL!

Nice layout! My next goal is to cover the open dirt areas with rocks like yours, previous owner did such a good job with the landscaping but for some reason he left the dirt exposed.
Not sure if you're planning on railings or not but i like it without, looks way more open.

Have you guys with dogs looked into these? the reviews are really good.

Thanks guys. Do the gravel and fabric, weeding straight dirt would be the worst.

And yea we’re going to do railings eventually. Just another big cost that we don’t need with no little ones running around yet.

Lawn is starting to look heat stressed in some spots, so not going to do anything to it until fall. Come September going to aerate, Tenacity treatment and push growth with fertilizer.

I have a decent city sized lawn. Is it worth picking up a hand spreader for fertilizer/seed? If so any suggestions?

Im new to this lawn care thing but id for sure want at least a hand held spreader for that. I bought one of these and it worked pretty good https://www.google.com/search?q=scot...hrome&ie=UTF-8 . I was worried i spread some areas too much with the fertilizer but no burn areas, i also used a fertilizer which guaranteed no burn.
Im going to try and take a picture of a house in my community and i dont know what happened but it looks like they just took the bag of fertlizer and dumped it while walking because theyre lawn has these huge snakes shaped patterns of yellow grass

If you have both a front and back yard, i'd go with a push broadcast spreader vs. handheld. They are way easier to use and you will be done way faster than using a handheld.

I got a used one on kijiji for like $20 a few years ago and it's held up well.

Yeah a decent city sized yard could mean anything. Without knowing, I would suggest the broadcast spreader over the handheld.
