Made a snowman in my yard with my daughter this morning, it’s been snowing solid (in the SW) since sometime before I woke up at 6:20.
How far south? No snow in my house, and no snow at Shepard landfill either.

If it’s north of Aspen, can it really be south?

Ah yes, the area North of Center Ave, that's considered SW. Never understood that one.

Temps look high for the next week (jinxed it!) so I EZ Seeded the 47 piss stains in our lawn.... watering it every day hoping it can somewhat recover before winter.

Will the piss spots come around themselves over time, without any seed or is this my life now?
EZ Seed did not germinate prior to this bullshit winter. Hope if it freezes the seeds are still ok...but I doubt it. Guess it wasn't warm enough to get germination. RIP lawn.

Gettin to be that time of year.
It is still a tad chilly out here but I power raked, cut, and cleaned up the flower beds/bushes of last years over growth.

Anyone use a reel mower? I am looking to do a mid week (or nightly) trim, without making any noise as baby is sleeping. I figure its a good activity to get me out of the house as well @ night.
School me on reel mowers? Suggestions re a quality reel mower? Do they actually work or am I crazy?

I must spread rep blah blah. Good one.

I don't have any advice, other than they are more work and less effective than one would think. If you want quiet, just go electric. My old timey gas mower doesn't wake my kids, sure as shit an electric one wouldn't cause any issues.

Reel is fine, if you NEVER let it get away from you. Otherwise, just do battery electric and you are better off. Speaking of which, any good deals on battery mower/trimmer combos this spring? Was looking at Ryobi last year, but never found a deal I liked.

I had a reel mower at the old place which had a tiny yard and it worked OK. It doesn't work on slightly damp grass, which was always a pain in the ass even if the grass just had a little dew on it, gets all gummed up.

The key to a reel mower is keeping them sharp. The second they start getting dull they just become a nuisance to use.

See my advice from last year. Although it still doesn't have a battery compatible impact driver.

What is the best way to sharpen? Just run a stone down each individual blade??
