cops don't have a consistent or reliable way of collecting video footage anyway, last time i had a dash cam video i showed them on my phone but they didnt care to take a copy because there's not really a way to add it to the case.
You need to burn it to a CD, otherwise its of no use to the CPS.

Sure they do, the last incident my wife was involved in the officer asked for the dash cam footage since I could produce it and added it to the case

The BlackVUE HD 1080p that I got from a Beyond group buy... I think it is 10 years, I ran it in my 09' Hummer and 11' CRV initially.

I still have one of them today still working away in my Audi... they are pretty bullet proof and reliable
That was only 5 years ago, lol.

    Edit: 7 years

Sorry guys, haven't read all the replies yet, but posted that in a hurry while at work and should elaborate:

It happened here (this was not always a double turn, used to be a single turn with no light, and had accidents at this place weekly, if you zoom in too close you will see it will turn to old streetview photo with a single lane) :

    https://www.google.ca/maps/@50.91332...7i13312!8i6656

Double turn lane with a traffic light for turning, and a sign that says No Turn on Red

The guy was in the left turning lane.

EDIT: Just read through all the replies. I see many idiots daily and I just laugh, never really involve me other than mentally infuriating haha. I won't bother with it, I was more curious than anything. A while ago was watching the news and cops were asking for anyone with a dashcam that caught something to submit it, so was curious how it worked more than anything. Taking the SD card out and getting the video is too much of a hustle unless it actually involves me. I was thinking just public shaming with bad drives threads like someone mentioned on here is good enough, but even then not that big of a deal. Time does heal all wounds, after initial wtf, i don't really care haha

if its going to actual court, then sure, if its just a traffic incident with blatant and obvious at fault, then they don't care

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

I still run the same one on the wifes car. Still going strong but you need to clean the lens as it gets blurry..and the time stamp bug which i forgot to patch after the last sd card format.

Here's a video from today that could be reported:

    Red face

I wouldn't bother. If the cops did anything in the first place, it wouldn't be solely with the footage. You would be asked to come to court, etc. Is that really worth it to get a guy a ticket?
