The US President can have a far reaching and significant impact on conditions for people all across the world. He's important to you whether you want him to be or not.

In many ways the President has MORE power outside of the US, since many of his power domestically are limited by Constitutional checks and balances.

I used to believe that, but the more that comes out of his mouth, the more I think he's just going senile. Pretty much every 70+ year old I know is definitely not "all there" anymore, and says weird shit compared to when they were 50/60.
