I mean sure, he’s got an impact on some of the affairs in my life - but in no way is he important to me.

How can a President of the US have an "inflated sense of their own importance?"
He's the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet... but also tweeted that he's like the second coming of Jesus... so there's that.

The US President can have a far reaching and significant impact on conditions for people all across the world. He's important to you whether you want him to be or not.

In many ways the President has MORE power outside of the US, since many of his power domestically are limited by Constitutional checks and balances.

Are you trying to tell me that the president of the United States has a significant impact on the health, happiness and well being of my family that could live for centuries on what we have currently and where we have it? Well sorry to break it to you but it doesn’t and that’s whats important to me.

Ignoring the power of the US president to set significant policy that impacts people globally is denying the facts.

I would also argue that the more wealth one has the more important the US president is.

I don’t have much material wealth. Just what’s important to me. A healthy family, a place to live and the means to sustain it for as long as we continue on.

Sure, but if CheetoJeebus decides to tweet from his toilet that "ain't no Canadian imports of nothin coming cross our border, plus, a new infinity tax on anyone that trades with Canada trying to export goods to murica" then our currency, economy and the value of the goods we already hold can be severely impacted.

Oh fuck. Is this one of that asshole wing-nut's threads about saucer people and the moon is fake?

    Fuck this.
I'm out before I was even in.

Trump told Canada to arrest a Chinese citizen and fucked our trade relationship with the second largest economy in the world. He didnt even need to set policy, he just asked us to be his bitch. Yeah...he's important.

When I hear ‘fragile ego’ I think:
    - can’t admit fault/mistakes
    - blames others for everything
    - can’t take criticism

Regardless of whether you agree with his policies or not, you have to admit he has a fragile ego

Greenland has glacier water. El Paso is drinking their own water in a closed loop system (like what you would do if you were forced to live on the moon)

At the rate millennials are paying extra for "premium water" I can imagine that they could put a tap on the glacier at $5 per litre.

    This is genius by Trump.
He is managing to distract and make people tall about things he wants.
One moment they are talking about gun control, then all of a sudden the news media is talking about Greenland.
Valuable airtime and discussion is given to this.
I mean I was driving to work yesterday and it was on cbc news radio. They were giving actual airtime to this?

If anything its highlighing how weak and easily swayed media outlets are.

As usual he's controlling the narrative. Armchair psychiatrists can diagnose all the disorders they want, but he's winning at this game.

I dont know how a country that has to keep increasing their debt ceiling can afford to buy more land? Another loan from the Chinese?

Its just money. $20 Trillion or $21 Trillion debt - Does it really even matter at this point? The USA has the power to simply print more.

EVERYTHING that comes out of the man's mouth, including tweets is a carefully calculated move.

I used to believe that, but the more that comes out of his mouth, the more I think he's just going senile. Pretty much every 70+ year old I know is definitely not "all there" anymore, and says weird shit compared to when they were 50/60. I don't see how Trump would be any different, especially with the stress of being POTUS.
