    Default Golf R question

When exactly did these come to Canada.

I remember a huge thread on here praising this car a few years ago but when I go on Kijiji there are 2013s on sale, how can this be? Are they brought up from the US?

    There's a 2013 right now, 130,000km, first owner (how'd he get it???) For $20,500.

The mk4 r32 was the only one you couldn’t get in Canada and surprise - it’s the best one!

Not that the mk6 is bad but mk7 is quite the improvement.

The hell? I hated the R32. Handled worse than the GTI, just plowing everywhere, and not much faster at our elevation. An NA V6 does not belong in that car, especially up in the mountains. No faster than a GTI. I mean the resale prices on these things are nuts, so it must be the best. I just don’t get why.

He’s talking a mk4 which a 2004 r32. Then there was a 2008 mk5 r32 also not available in Canada. Next came the golf r 2l turbo in 2013 which is a mk6, then the mk7 golf r in 2015. They are in the mk7.5 right now, I read somewhere that production is done though. Next up is the mk8 it’s a few years away.

Really! It definitely wasn't fast, but I thought they handled pretty good and sounded amazing for what they were. They felt like more of a special edition vehicle than the proceeding generations in my opinion and I think the VR6 was the best motor they put in a golf other than the one off W12 haha. You do need a couple parts for the R32 to make it right though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px0g9_xu6fQ

I had a 13 for a while, no issues with it. I wouldn't call it fast though, quick at best.

A new haldex unit or even a flash to it fixes the numb under steer feeling that the R had.

I had a Black Stg2, 6R. Decently quick (0-60 ~4.s), but some old tech inside & built upon, much from mk5. Sold it at similar mileage, 3 yrs ago.

So true. My stock 337 handled better than a stock R32.
Mk4 R32’s, need FI, otherwise they’re toooooo slooooow.
