oh hai guize! have a bit of a newbie question on how USB C charging works on laptops. Laptop in question is a lenovo X1 carbon 6th gen. The only charge port on it is a the USB C port, and the supplied charge cord is a typical 120V-> Brick->cord setup with a USB C end. The supplied brick/cord work flawlessly.
HOWEVER, I was thinking that since this thing uses a USB C cord, I would be able to charge it with OTHER USB C chargers and cords, since I have several devices in my home that use this standard cord. So far, none of the cords/bricks that I use to charge my Samsung devices have worked. Not the generic 120V wall bricks, the Samsung branded Wall bricks, or the generic portable battery pack. I wouldn't mind if they charged somewhat slower, but they don't appear to be charging at all. What gives? I thought part of the deal with USB standards was the things were interchangeable? It's certainly worked that way for all the tablets and phones in my home.
