Aren't Wranglers basically the worst vehicle on the road?

not by a long shot. They just provide a different type of fun than the normal idea of an auto-x car, or that fast = fun. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If towing is off the card, opens up the world.
RDX, CX5, Edge ST, one year old AMG lite etc.

I liked my Jeep. Surprisingly entertaining and a hoot to bomb around in.
It’s just not ideal for every situation (nor is any vehicle)

Toyota 4 Runner TRD pro in Voodoo Blue?
Lots of good replies so far, thanks! The tow requirement can be ignored, as it's been pointed out, I'm keeping the truck and I doubt I'll ever be in a situation I can't find one to tow if mine breaks down.
Looks interesting, hadn't considered a Mazda, but I'll look at them more. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Have never actually seen a GLA45 in person. Is the size comparable to the Q5?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I like the styling of the Trailhawk, but an Overland would certainly meet the interior finish requirements. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
How was the interior on the Q5? Acceleration? I'm really, really looking to avoid anything large so I can fit into my garage easily. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I liked my old Jeep, the problem was that I enjoyed modifying it as well. With a Wrangler I would be six months into ownership, down $15k in mods and half my warranty voided. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So far I think the test drive list is:
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk
- Mazda CX-5
- Acura MDX
What are everyone's thoughts on the Lexus RX350?
@Darkane , without the towing, what would your list look like?

See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
I was cross shopping the mdx and rx350 a bit (purely over the internet) and the mdx seemed hands down better. I know the internet can only do so much, but we ended up getting a few year old one and it is the most comfortable thing I've ever been in (not saying much) apparently the sh-awd is great tooThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. How do you find the rear cargo space with the third row of seating? That’s the only concern I have just by looking online, but the the six passenger model with middle captains chairs looks very attractiveThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Car could be anything now that towing is no longer needed.
Stinger comes to mind.
I don’t necessarily have a list. Most everything has been mentioned.

We originally wanted the captain's chairs too, but didn't find one on our timeline. I have also been told by people who have second row captain's that they regret it. I would still take them if given the option. As for rear cargo with the 3rd row up, there isn't much. There is tons with them down, but you can't plan to take much with you if you use the 3rd row. With only one of the 3rd row up, it's manageable though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They’re pretty much at the bottom for that one. Source: I tried buying the white one they had. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I guess partly related, does anyone know how flexible Acura is on their pricing? Are they in high enough demand that they’ll be basically sticking to MSRP minus manufacturer rebates? Do they typically have better offers moving into October/November?

I like the GLA 250 car2gos... the 45 would be a great year round daily if you still have the truck for moving more crap and towing
+ for Q5 if you can drop the towing requirement. We have a 2013 currently, but also had a 2019 for a week as a loaner and we were still pretty impressed with it.
Try and find a CPO 2017/2018... should be close to 40k vs 65k+ brand new. Could even get into a used SQ5 for 60k i think.
I'm still enjoying my new one. I wouldn't call them slow either. I think it's a sub 7s to 60mph or so in mag tests. It got Motor Trend SUV of the year so it can't be the worst vehicle on the road haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Decided on the first batch to test drive.
Going to try out the Q5, RDX, MDX, Grand Cherokee Overland and Grand Cherokee Trailhawk this weekend. Next weekend will be the GLC300, X3 and maybe look at an RX series Lexus, but their pricing seems way more than what I want to spend.
Any Acura dealers to use or avoid?
