The ongoing coverage is funny in that they’re reporting on the absolute worst what ifs like it’s still armageddon. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Guess that’s the only way to get ratings and make money these days. Sell fear even tho we’ve all been desensitized to it.

Sounds like it will be hitting nova scotia about 6 hours after we land. 150+mm of rain and 120-140 km winds.
Its 'fear-tainment' now. The MSM still gets profits from it. Tie it in to global warming disaster and its a ratings bonanza! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Too early for fyre 2?
Of course after all the drama in US, we are the one that hit hard by Dorian

Made it all the way up into Canada and landed as a fast passing tropical storm. And still managed to wreak havoc.
Construction crane looked like a wet noodle
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Are we that unprepared for even a tropical storm?
Apparently the crane wasn’t setup properly to deal with it.

I'm at my cottage in New Brunswick and surprisingly nothing really happened, power flickered a few times but that was about it. My family members lost power and a bunch of large trees were toppled over, but that's about it.
I was thinking the same thing, but after watching it peter out through the entire US and hearing the unsubstantiated hysterical nonsense from frenzied media, I could see myself going "Pffft - whatever. There's nothing to prepare for!" and then getting fucked. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It packed a little punch. That fkr still had winds of 180 when I was monitoring it just off shore. Plenty of spots recorded 120-140 on land, and thats MANY hours of wind, not just a quick AB thunder storm rolling thru.

We went down to the waterfront in Dartmouth to check out the eye, that was pretty cool.
Wasn't too terrible at my house on the South Shore, North Shore got it worse.
Lost power for 40 hours which sucked, more so not having running water. My parents still don't have electricity and other parts of the island might not have it restored until later this week.
Mind boggling how the govt will never put money into burying the power lines here, I get not much money to go around but there's large scale power outages several times a year.
