I think you just have to get creative, smoke bombs are a bad idea since the cops might actually do something to you for that. Maybe set up a compost with a bunch of disgusting rotten meat??

Good Idea. Start to attract skunks, mice and other critters to the site.

Nope. He is white as white gets. I stumbled across a picture of him and his GF awhile back. Not sure if it is the current one, or one of the crazy exs, but I think I still have it around here somewhere.

Unfortunately, this situation calls for you to bird seed your own immediate surroundings. Given enough "incentive" pigeons & seagulls would paint the ever-loving shit out of your yard.

Ages ago we used to use these special aerosol cans to test manhole gas detectors, the stuff they sprayed out smelled like the worst imaginable farts. I'm sure the O&G people in here know what I'm talking about, get some of that and liberally spray their living area while they're out. That should encourage them to move on. If they stick around with that stench in their living area then you're probably stuck with them.

I deal with crack addicts and homeless especially in the winter months at my condo. The police say to call them to kick them out but with them being busy, it can take up to an hour for them to arrive. When I need to get to work, I don't have time waiting so being 6 foot 8 and not being a skinny lad, I just scare the crap out of them and for the most part they don't come back. Get some biker dudes to stop by and "evict them"

Also where are the GF pics

I alsso thought of the sprinkler solution as well but at the same time what might be the consequences from said squatters?
Now you have to deal with them stripping naked for free shower?

I don’t buy that nothing can be done.

I looked up Calgary bylaws and there is a parks and pathways bylaw. I’d argue that the area in question is considered a “natural area” and falls under the definition of a park.

Section 9 states one of the activities not allowed is this:
    (p) camping or erecting a tent or other structure.

Looks like the penalty is $150. CPS should roll in, issue every one of them a $150 fine, and give them a couple hours to clear their garbage or seize it all to prevent the commission of an offence. Problem solved.

Giving homeless a ticket, yeah that'll teach them.

Unless that's a hotspot of activity, cops won't care. Homeless has been setting up camps on a hillside off Cliff st among the trees at Mount Royal for years. Nothing has been done.

Yeah, so if they aren't actually in your yard as per the thread title, there's nothing you can really do. Aside from make their lives miserable.

+1 for setting a sprinkler up to make them all wet.

I guess there's another question to be asked. Do you really need them to leave? Are they harming you?

I would not want Mar's situation in my backyard regardless of whether they were harmless or not.

Tickets written under Part 2 (pink tickets) where they either pay or they have to go to court can often be resolved with mandated counselling in lieu of having to pay a monetary amount, so they can be used as a tool to direct people into a line of addictions counselling and getting out of the shit situation they are in. Yes, tickets can help.

Calgary weather should make most tenters move on soon enough - assuming there is no global warming.

Lights, Cameras then sprinklers at night should make it a chilly experience for them. Coordingate the attack with the bueinsess that are are also concerned. Make sure they have lights like the sun on them as well.

Maybe work on electrifying your fence perimeter in case they try a counter-attack.

I wonder if you could buy a wasp nest or something to toss in there. that would get them out.
