    Default Help with built-in BBQ

I'm trying to install a built-in BBQ. From what I understand, it doesn't have a heat shield on the bottom so I need a hard line?. In the manual it says "Do not use hose to connect the unit. It must be connected with either rigid pipe, copper tube or an approved flexible metal connector." Do I need a pipefitter to come out and do this or can it be DIY?

Technically, in Calgary, you need a pipe fitter and a permit to do pretty much anything involving a natural gas line.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it's a propane grill

Sounds like a grey area since it’s physically installed, but rules are less explicit for non NG. Maybe worth calling the city about?

Built in bbq without a NG line sounds odd to me for some reason?

    Updates?
I think a BBQ store will sell you the fancier flexible "hose" that is allowed and it'll have fittings in it that you won't need a plumber for.
    Just a guess though

Places like bbq glaore DO sell a good variety of hoses, but it sounds like he needs a hard line because of the heat underneath?

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

I'm picturing a hose similar to a braided steel thing that I think he can buy.
