No scientist has yet been able to explore and explain the warming period between 1910 and 1945 when CO2 levels were 1/10 of what they were in the current warming trend. The movement reminds me of McCarthyism whereas you better believe what we are telling you or you will be labeled in one way or another.

In the end I believe everything is about money and power. I really want to know where they are after here so I can get in on it. I have been trying to determine what the investment strategy is because this has the population in a state of fear and panic, and that drives consumption. That means profit.

The amount of delusional people per capita on beyond amazes me.

I remember back when the entire clothing sector was preparing new materials for "acid rain", just because the PH levels changed for a few years. Again, coming to certain conclusions about observations is guesswork especially on something as largescale as the planet.

Acid rain being the most prominent imminent but long term disaster.

Yes, the climate change hysteria is built on a couple of questionable conclusions:

    1. Correlation is causation. (We have good enough statistics to suggest that this is case - just like we did with smoking causing cancer, and other things with strong correlations).
    2. That the correlation will remain proportional and is inelastic over large period. That is, that the correlation can be used to project the future impact of C02 emissions on temperature changes. This is almost certainly an error in logic - although it could prove to be true still
    3. We can predict outcomes based on the increase in temperature: data is still largely inconclusive on almost all areas that people cite as catastrophes (increased storm activity, etc).

In other words, people are taking decent science (C02 correlated climate change) and building a pretty massive hysteria based on bad science.

Acid rain and quicksand turned out to be less of a problem then I was led to believe when I was younger.

Yeah, what's the big deal. I'm sure many people here also speak several languages, have directly addressed the UN with impassioned appeals from the heart, published books and chided world leaders to their faces all before they were teenagers.

What a waste of time! Climate change is either real but not affected by man or it's not even real at all, therefore we should just do nothing. /this thread

Why is my insurance up 25%? I don't live in Ft. Mac! /different thread
Is a single person actually saying all that? Other than you in your mocking hyperbole I mean? It's funny how it's so bad to question the way things are happening. I don't think there is a single person posting who is against curbing pollution, just people who are against the rhetoric and the methods that our Government is doing their virtue signalling at our expense by.

On the bright side, there's hope that Greta won't look like an absolute cunt when she grows up. Or she could.

I'm sure she did ALL that without David Suzuki scripting any of it at that time. Just like I am sure this particular child activist, of the 100's of impassioned one's throughout the world I expect, got all the way to the UN and international stardom with no coaching/scripting/string pulling too.

Best thing we could do is control population. How do we do that? Make immunizations illegal so the weakest of us die off and the strong spread their seed. Bam!!! Two problems solved with one play...
@tirebob cannibalism is the solution to both hunger and overpopulation.

I'd vote for the (soylent)Green party. Also a mandatory age of becoming said food. That would save the tax payers billions in OAS and CPP.

@jwslam Absolutely true! lol! If people truly believed in "pure science" as they proclaim to do, then this would be a good solution. The fact is we all believe in science, but only up to the point it crosses a line of being unpalatable to our notions of what is good and bad or inconvenient. The next fact of the matter is we all disagree with where those lines should be drawn...

Maybe Hitler was on the right track? Sorry @Mibz if that's too soon.

If you're trying to draw him back to the forum you may have better luck scattering some free Bitcoin.

Studies can't even agree on what kills more people, hot or cold events.
Seems to go back and forth

And this Greta chick is a useless protest child. Trying to shame everyone... Maybe she can get an education in a real science and figure out a solution. Not just a way to be funded by organizations.

Oh she had her way with JT today, I am sure he was in tears and will pledge at least 50 million to something in her honour.
