    Default Uniqlo opening in Edmonton

Just found out Uniqlo is opening in West Edmonton Mall this weekend. As far as mass retailers go, it's one of my favorites and I've been waiting forever for one to open up in Calgary. Now I have more reason to take a business trip up to Edmonton. Hopefully with the opening of this store it eases the logistics of opening one up in Calgary.

I like cheap clothes that are decent. Wish they carried some of the same stuff they have in Japan. Found a comfy pair of jeans in Japan but lost more weight. Haven't been able to find them here.

Someone was explaining to me why chains have a preference to open their first store in Edm instead of Cgy.

Essentially it's because Edm is more representative of the local market in Alberta, whereas Calgary is a lot more full of transplants.

i bet its also a good lower capital trial market for Calgary, i would imagine retail space is cheaper there

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

We have a few of them here in Vancouver. I have bought like 3 VW graphic t-shirts, super comfy, quality is good. Bought my wife a warm pajama set for winter, she is also happy with the quality, says they are very comfortable.

Are there any other particular items that are a strongsuit of the brand?

Edmonton also has a huge amount of mainlanders. Edmonton also had all these BBT chains that came to Calgary years after.

Their collaborations. I have some Engineered Garments x Uniqlo polo shirts and they're nice designs.

Uniqlo is awesome. Just stocked up on a bunch of baby stuff from japan last week. Quality is good for the price. I also love their HeatTech stuff for winter. Last year I bought a bunch of the Alexander Wang Heattech shirts and it was pretty much all wore all last winter.
