    Default Nice Hotel in Paris

There are so many damn hotels in Paris, not sure what to choose.

Curious if any of you have stayed somewhere nice, good location.

    Budget is up to $1000/night.

How many rooms? What are you looking for? Good food close? Quiet and clean? Boutique? Do you want to use certain points (Bonvoy, etc). Also what is a good location? Like walking distance to things (and what things?).

I have a few suggestions for you but they all differ. Best location for us was just NE of the Champ de Mars but it isn't for everyone.

Don’t need points, two rooms would be ideal. There are four of us, but it’s not necessary.

Something within walking distance to nice restaurants and some of the major attractions.

Not sure if that is doable?

Paris is a bit more spread out, think like San Francisco compared to something tighter like NYC. If that's what you're looking for, near the arc de triomphe is a decent area. Paging @redblack as I think the hotel they stayed at might be more in line with what you're looking for.

A few years ago I stayed at the San Regis. https://www.hotel-sanregis.fr/en/ Private 5 star hotel. Was really nice. Location is decent, near the Arc about half way between the Champs and the Seine. The Louvre and Eiffel should be in walking distance too.

    And expensive parking ... lol

We were at Maison Breguet in July for a week or so, was ok.. convenience anyway, easy to go Printemps, that is good enough for me
I did drive for first couple day.... Hell bigistake! (Plan was driving around at night, but hard to follow that plan with two kids)

I’ve stayed at the Madison hotel in saint Germaine, it had nice rooms and great service. Subway stations nearby and walkable to the louvre, Norte dame and lots of good restaurants in the area.

I stayed at the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel Tower, just checked from when I went in 2017 and it was $450/night. It was 1/2" a block from the Eiffel tower. Would walk over to Chez Ribe every day for coffee on the patio. Really good bang for the money.

Sounds like you're essentially doing the same trip we did, PM if you want more itinerary details.

Thinking about staying at the Juliana Hotel, they have family rooms (suites). Does this look to be in a good location?

Use to travel to work in London regularly and would often take another week and see the sights of Paris as it was my favorite city.

Always stayed at the W Paris Opera. Location was great. If you're keen to spend $1,000 a night the "Wow Suites" are a good way to do it.

We go to Paris annually and we no longer use hotels at all. Airbnb or the like is way better! Last time we were in Paris with the kids we got a wicked 3 bedroom 3 bath 1500sf that was shaped like a horseshoe around the inner court yard in St-Germain des Pres for $400/night. Granted it was a deal because it was a new rental with only a few reviews so they had it listed much cheaper than normal, but deals are out there for sure. Last year when it was just my wife and I we got a fab little flat on the island overlooking Notre dame for $169/night. Very cool apartments available for short term rentals in Paris.

Are Airbnb’s safe, as in for booking securely? Ive done HomeAway/VRBO but never airbnb.

Do you have a link to the place you booked?

I’ve looked at Homeway but didn’t see anything that looked particularly nice.

This place was recommended, 915sqft family suite.

    Is the location ok?

We also no longer use hotels in Europe anymore. AirBNB is just so much better, especially if you look for the more expensive ones. You get so much more space than a typical European Hotel and you get things that you normally don't get with hotels (unless you pay big $$) like full kitchen (having a kitchen with wine glasses are so nice), multiple bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and most important - a patio! Having a private patio in places like Paris and Barcelona really completes the experience. The only downside for me personally is no access to a gym.

Next week in Paris we are staying in an AirBNB 1 min walk from the Arc de Triomphe, then the week after in Barcelona our AirBNB has a private 800sqf roof top patio - so stoked about this .

I've had hit and miss with AirBnB. Awesome for people who have been able to get sweet spots!

I had a 4-star place booked for Miami once. It was being renovated when I got there and it smelled like fumigation. It was terrible.

Shit, put a request in for an Airbnb in a great location and didn’t notice they had a 7night minimum.

    Requested this place https://abnb.me/AO4cZkdHt0

    Had to cancel it.

Looks like the place Jordan booked is the next best choice.
