    Default any refrigeration experts here?

My Frigidaire Commercial (yeah right), stand up deep freeze started to only cool to -4C or so and stay there.

I pulled the evaporator shroud off the top/back and i see the coil is only showing snow/ice over a certain section, with the rest not frozen. This looks like a classic loss of coolant or a leak in the sealed bits?

The condenser coil seems to be getting enough cooling, and the compressor kicks on. (Not sure if the compressor is operating at 100% or not).

Before I ditch it, I want to make sure that it might not be something else that is fixable.

My best internet diagnosis is a refrigerant leak. The frost looks normal. Nearly all other failure modes would leave it completely dead. Or possibly a thermostat going bad.

It should be a disk type. It could be causing the heater to not come on. I'm not sure what else it would be interlocked with, the condensing unit maybe
