    Default Peanuts and Thailand

I'm wanting to plan a trip to Thailand in the new year but I have a severe allergy to peanuts. I'm sure people with a peanut allergy have traveled there before so i'm wondering what are some tips and things to eat that well help minimize any incidents.

Bring lots of Epipens Even if you specify no peanuts there can be a ton of cross contamination

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

It's a big world and to me the local cuisine is an important part of rhe trip. Go somewhere else.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

My bro made it through 3 weeks Thailand with no reaction to nuts. Turned down a couple meals and had a card to show everyone so they knew .

    I'd say go

My nut allergy (cashews are deadly but peanuts are ok actually) is probably the only thing holding me back from ever going to SE Asia. I'm uncertain when I mention it in Calgary, and have EpiPens, like I want to ear at White Elephant so bad..haha frick just thinking about eating Thai food gives me anxiety lol.

I have nothing to add. But if you go, would you bring me back a couple of cans of CocaCola..? It tastes amazing there.
I will pay good money for this.

No issues with my non-lethal cashew allergy having spent 4 weeks in Thailand/Cambodia. Given cashew chicken is a common Thai dish, I was super worried, but that was the only dish I encountered that had cashews in it. Peanuts were much more common. I had a card written out in thai that I gave restaurants where I had concern.

My downside risk is "just" a very painful 4-5 hour reaction, so gambling a little for me is more manageable than risking a hospital trip or death. I would get your hesitancy for sure.

I like the idea of having a card. Sometimes when you visit places they don't know how serious an allergy can be and in my case it can lead to death.

Never been there and nor do I have any allergies.
Could you not find markets and just purchase raw products. Sadly, you're cooking in your hotel on a hot plate but would ensure you know what you ate.
