Default Where to get tires studded?

I got some new winters in th spring on clearance from CT for the wife's minivan, they have been mounted and balanced (but not driven on), but i was thinking of getting them studded (yes they are studdable), who does this and what's the average cost?

Called a couple places but they dont do it

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Spec R Motorsports would likely do it. Probably $120ish a set is my guess.

UrbanX does it, though maybe not since you didn't buy from them? Try phoning, or PM'ing bob on here, because their phone is ringing off the hook since it snowed.

On a similar note, I ran into @C_Dave45 when I was there on Friday! It's been awhile since he's been on Beyond.

@Thaco If you bought them from CT, they should be able to stud them for you as well. Cost is $30/tire.

Bob will also stud them and I believe it will be $35/tire.

I was also told by a CT rep that studs need to be put in before the rubber gets mounted. Is this inaccurate?

Which tires did you get on clearance?

The gun inserts them from the outside in, so not sure why it would need that. Would need a balance afterwards though, I'd imagine.

that's likely just their assurance that they havent been driven on, nobody will do ti if they've been driven on because they could get debrits in the holes and mess up the machine or cause the studs to not seat properly.

I'll give CT a call, i just dont trust them for service, but i guess this would be more difficult for them to screw up

Yeah, I'm trusting CT to do my install/balance/stud because I have a pretty picky schedule and they were able to slot me in for a weekend.

My install is this Sunday so we'll see if they end up fucking up.

Studding tires is laborious work, especially if you have 200 studs per tire haha.

I am more interested if you can restud a tire. For instance last winter I could hear my studs and this winter I don’t. They are Hakka 8’s

I can still hear mine and they are worn down so far I'm sure they are useless. Maybe you just went deaf?

I can hear them but they sounded super loud and therefore more grippy when they were new last year
