Are far as street food, they had no available free time. For the most part all of their meals were catered with the exception of breakfast at the hotel. Burger King was an exception that some people ordered.
As far as the food, very heavy protein based - chicken, beef, lamb, beans and lots of lentils. Eggs were also a staple but prepared quite differently from what we're used to. Lamb, lamb and more lamb seemed to be the order of the day a d my wife is not particularly fond of lamb so it was chicken and beef when it was available. She said that a regular breakfast offering was mashed up beans and lentils with fresh cilantro and a few other herbs, she said she could eat that all the time.

Why would you assume that? So you know this to be true? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There must be hundreds of millions of chickens produced in the Middle East, non?
I've heard there are 23,000,000,000 chickens on earth at any given time because everyone on the planet eats them. I don't see the efficiency in shipping a bird worth $7 well over 10,000km.

Your link also states that "Chicken is the leading livestock in the region, with a CAGR of 5% from 2010 to 2014."
And mentions that in the same year, they produced 618Million kg of chicken meat and for a country that seems to like goat so much, they only produced 29Million kg of goat meat.
So, there are chickens there and metric shit-tonnes of them. If OP's wife ate chicken and said it tasted very different, there is no conclusive argument to say "she was eating the same frozen chicken we get in North America" when they are also producing so much chicken, there.
A coworker ate the Burger King chicken burger, not my wife. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Holy fuck, what a god damn stupid thing to be arguing about. The simple fact remains that my wife's coworker felt that the chicken burger there tasted much different than the one he can get here. Why, who knows? Could be just different preparation or condiments or whatever
Yeah, it's a chain but there is the very real possibility that things have been modified a bit to suit local palates.

Have you seen the stupid shit we discuss here? The processing of a Saudi chicken burger is literally the most sensible argument we've had in weeks. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It would actually be more weird if it tasted exactly the same as it would here to be honest.
Even US vs. Canada chains some times taste a bit different.

I'm guessing the chicken also has to be Halal.
