Default [Review] Rebel Ramen (High Protein Vegan Instant Noodles)

TLDR: Rebel Ramen is a just-launched Kickstarter product that uses black beans as noodles vs. traditional noodles. It's 300 calories a bowl at 38g of protein, 30g of carbs (20g fiber), and 5g of fat. It costs about $28 CAD for a pack of 6, so just under $5/bowl.

It's pretty filling and tastes decent. It's way better than a protein bar or something and costs about the same. I hope these guys do well because I want to keep buying them.

Both flavors are pretty good, albeit salty. Adding vegetables to the mix makes the meal a bit less monotonous to eat. I've also added eggs/chicken and it was tasty.

At $5/bowl for instant noodles, better to grab a Baconator.

As with most products like these...

Expensive. No way I am paying $5 for packaged goods like this.

It's way more affordable in the USA, where it works out to like $3.50/bowl.

It's also not ramen. It's a different kind of noodle thing altogether that they're trying to market like ramen. It's just as convenient but way more nutritious.

Interesting. Low net carb if you factor in the fiber. Curious about the 38g of protein.

where was the discussion about living on minimum wage and eating instant noodle? I think we need to bump the minimum wage.

Fair enough. Other than price, I'm also concerned about the sodium content. It would be nice if it was a lot less than your typical ramen.

Ya. Salt is high. Can't have your cake and eat it, too.

About 60% the salt of traditional instant ramen, though.

I just picked up another 12 Spicy Savory. Super good.

The Spicy is noticeably better than the Miso IMO.

This is actually very true, my carnivorous friend.

I've been getting into Korean spy bean paste and Kim chi and it's incredible how much sodium content these have, but Koreans who eat it everyday live incredibly long and healthy lives.

I'm guessing this is being sold online only right now?
