My buddy was growing shrooms for a while for micro dosing. Not sure if he's still micro dosing but he decided to take some of them the other night we were together.

Not sure if it's because of the micro dosing he did but he said the recommended dosage for a good trip was 3.5 grams. He said 5 grams and your gone all night. 3.5 just makes sure your good but not too good.

One variable he mentioned is there is no way to know how strong the stuff you grow is. So you don't want to take 1.5 to 2 grams and not get the results you wanted.

Overall he had a blast. I packed it in at midnight. He was up around the fire till 2 or 3 am with other friends.

Has anyone experimented with different strains? Notice anything different or is it legit just the different concentrations of psilocybin in them?
Are there more social and fun time strains vs profound thoughts but still functional trip?

Speaking of this, I think I may be "more sensitive" to this stuff than some others. I for sure notice 350 mg capsules effects, it's not sub-perceptible at all for me. This is the "nirvana" capsules from Organic Canada.
Now, luckily in my case, I am a-OK with perceiving the effects, so this 350 is just fine for an evening at home. However, seems to hit different folks differently, because I know guys who feel nothing on 2x350. or maybe they are buying elsewhere with lower quality? Hard to unpack all that.

I feel like you could say more. I'd like to do a five or six ounce go once, I think three and a half is the most I did and the visuals were awesome but could have easily got unsettling had I let them.

I did 5. The loss of control and not being able to submit to it and relax kinda fucked with me for the first while. I’ve never done really any drugs in my past and I just wanted to try this. I don’t think I’ll do it again. A whirlwind of emotions. Also, I don’t have the darkness in me or at least I didn’t go to a place with anything in it. I found myself trying to get back to a central place I’d focus as everything around me seemed chaotic. I couldn’t close my eyes perhaps because it was so busy and I couldn’t relax. A lot of Aztec’y or thing I interpret as Aztec shapes went wild. Anyway. A lot to process. I feel hung over like today.

The whole process was 6hrs or so. The number 1118 seemed to pop into my mind a lot. Is it a date? Who knows.

5g is a lot IMO. If you took 5 grams this time, how much have you previously taken and did you find the results too subtle to judge or more pleasant or...?

I've heard some people who have an unpleasant experience, still find there's lingering positive effects. Some kind of openness /clarity/receptivity etc.
