Question Does anyone know if SHAW considers a new customer by address or by name?

Looks like Telus fiber isn't available in this area of Edgemont yet, so it looks like SHAW is likely the best option still.

My parent's internet contract is coming due, and was recently offered a renewal but at $15/mth more than the existing contract. They're on SHAW 300 at the moment.

With the current deals for new customers for SHAW, it looks like it will be closest to their existing contract rate. So I wasn't sure if SHAW only considers a new customer by address or by person on the account.

If anyone has insight, that'd be great!

Customers are names, and your services follow you around along with your existing contract when you change addresses (I've done it 3 times now). I'm not sure if that answers your question though.

You can cancel without penalty only if you can prove to them that you are moving to an area without Shaw service, otherwise its $15/mo for the remaining contract months.

Thanks for the reply Mitsu3000gt My parent's contract runs out in June, so I'm sure there'll be promos out there which will be available at that time.
