There isn't a PRIVATE school out there that should get any Gov't funding.

I absolutely do not care that private post secondaries are losing some funding.
The private ones aren't losing funding. That's the point.

Where have you been since 2015? We've been in a recession for years, long before this was released. Does this budget cut deep? Absolutely. Is it going to make everyone happy? Definitely not. But we're in the middle of a recession and something drastic needed to be done. I'm just glad someone had the balls to do it.
That's the thing about all of this. This budget sucks... just like the last 5 budgets before it. Alberta hasn't risen out of the shitter, it just joined most of the rest of the country with a shitty (normal) economy.

This budget is bad. Not sure why people would expect anything else given the current climate in Alberta.

The NDP budgets were more like the rest of Canada - spend like mad, somehow thinking that gov't spending has a material multiplier effect.

Seem often seem to forget that the conservatives tabled a 5 billion $ deficit budget when they called the election. NDP ran with a 6.1 billion $ deficit. Still more but the province's finances were run into the ground before the NDP took over.

On second thought, yes I agree with this. So instead of the last 5 budgets being shitty, I should have said all budget since Stelmach/Redford. That's what happens when Red Tories are in charge.

The NDP have never met a budget they were willing to stick to

And according to the G&M, that budget difference is what separates Alberta being awesome versus the impending apocalypse. Hell there's one idiot in here that thinks that's what is going to put Alberta in a recession.

I don’t think raj was trying to poke fun at AISH recipients. More so people who are bad with money.

My uncles has been in AISH since he was 18 and it’s a very small amount of money.
I'm a little touchy about that because I have a close relative that is likely an AISH candidate when they turn 18. Then again, when it comes to government budgets, there's always certain areas that more closely impact each of us.

I think Kenney will be ejected immediately. Just like Stalemach was. Party will be around.
    Which would be ridiculous.

Alberta voting PC is like an abusive relationship. They just keep going back, no matter how hard they get hit.

That's what I meant, they will always vote PC, just change the leader.

I am sorry to hear. I did not mean to convey any ill feelings or words towards the disabled and agree it’s a shame that an already low income is being cut.

So why did they omit the new sin tax?

Why didnt weed taxes go up equivalent to cigarette taxes?

It was going to solve our budget issues they said... So tax the eff out of it too.

If you’re gonna get taxed, might as well get services out of it.

At least a PST would result in money that could stay in the province.

Why not introduce a luxury tax? On cars over $50k/boats/RV's etc. But i guess that would impact beyond ballers too much haha

    Already coming from Trudeau.

Already planning on slowing down spending in Canada.

Eventually, I expect the Liberals are going to have their Cretien moment and realize spending cuts rather than increasibgly abusive taxation, are the answer to deficits and debt.
