See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
@rage2 where was the fancy place you took your kids for breakfast that time right downtown? I think it was either in or near the Calgary Tower?
My kids only like Coras. Were you thinking about Wilde? That's in the new Marriot hotel on 27th floor or some shit. That was with co-workers.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Wilde is only open in the evening is it not?
I feel like I looked into it to go try for a mid day beer and found they weren’t open.

It was Wilde. I found the picture from early September and this sure looks like breakfast, but it doesn't seem like they're open those hours, now.

Probably because people got tired of paying $50 for a sub-par grand slam. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm looking for something like Mon Ami Gabi (from Vegas). The best I've had in Calgary was I think the Oxbow but again I don't believe they're open for breakfast anymore either.
Wilde is open for lunch now, for your disappointment.
I tried Taste Cafe in Millenium Tower(?). Pretty good bimbimbap bowl for a fair price.
Has anyone done the Wilde brunch that apparently costs 95$/person?
Wow - they nailed Coupe's criteria - $95 dollar lunch, perfect! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Book early before the rush.
Hmm, well worth it if there's lots of seafood. Fuck that shit is expensive.
I finally went to Major Tom for the first time yesterday and they had their afternoon menu on. I think they called it Golden Hour (3-5) or something. This was a bad start for me as I had skipped lunch to do other fancy pants, downtown nonsense and I was getting hangry.
We had a dozen oysters, cheese toast and the beet salad and everything was absolutely tremendous. I thought this place was supposed to be crazy expensive and it's totally not. In fact, their beer would "only" be $9 but it's something like 25% off and martinis were only $12 for Golden Shower Hour. Gin martini was maybe the best ever, as well.
I'll be back.
