I haven't been back to canterra since covid. Can you compare to the van express wonton soup?

No whole shrimps. no idea if there's shrimp in the dumplings, I haven't asked. I'm sure Christie, who runs that place and make the dumplings, would be able to tell you.

Also note that Canterra Cafe is no longer in Canterra Tower, it's in Whatever that Building west of 5th and 5th is, the one on 5th ave and 6th street SW.

Went to Hi-5 burgers. Was fine. I quite liked the burger. Fries were nice and crispy. Didn't realize the burger was only $8. Makes it a viable option.

I tried it out before the holidays. Was pretty good, but kind of expensive for the good burgers. Good Maillard reaction on the smashed patties which is a nice change from a&w

The $8 you’re talking about must be the single with no cheese? Their standard burger with 2 patties and cheese was like 11 or 12, then add fries and a drink and it was something like $18 I paid.. hard to justify eating often but nice every once in a while.

I do want to try their Nashville hot sandwich tho, maybe this week I’ll give it a shot

Yeah just the single. It was plenty for me.

I don't really need the fries and I've foregone getting drinks now. I went with the wife so we just shared a large fry, that thing was gigantic.

So I saw @R-Audi 's comment about that taco shop this morning and figured I'd check it out.
Brotha was not lyin', these tacos were killer. Juicy, lots of flavour (with regrets to @89coupe ), good crunch, decent portion size and decent price point. 10/10 would hit again.

I also tried this place a couple times and damn was it good. I wanted to go back last week and noticed that they're gone.

Looks like they’re looking for a new location. That space has a very small kitchen.

Looks like Royal Exchange in Bow Valley Square packed it in sometime after Christmas. It was good there, I thought. A touch too noisy at times for a Bidness Dealings lunch, but still pretty good.

From what I understand from people on the inside that restaurant group is basically done with the royal exchange franchise.

I’m sure it will be back open with yet another new name soon enough, it’s a pretty turnkey spot.

Two years is an awfully short lease. Maybe Vintage still has it?

They had good paninis and old fashions and you could always get a spot.
