I missed one... they should also bring AMA on board with it. Zipper merge would be successful if more people knew about it. The knowledge of these types of maneuvers just isn't there. A lot of people don't even know what a zipper merge is. The construction crews need to use the signs "Use both lanes until merge point" "Merge in 250m" "Merge Here"... that would really help in Alberta. Tho I imagine a few people would still fuck it up.

They do. They have a strip of roadway of sufficient width that allows them to filter between stopped vehicles on their right and stopped or moving vehicles on their left. AKA, a bike lane.

Yah, I sent emails to pretty much everyone involved. I'll see if I can get a response. I called the Crowns office just after 4 today, got the receptionist but she immediately hung up on me for reasons unknown, maybe because it was after quitting time.

Court communication is sorely lacking.

I have a traffic court trial coming up. It was originally supposed to happen back in March. According to the Crown's office, the trial has been automatically pushed to Aug. 17 2020.

I just visited the Alberta Courts website and noticed that the COVID-19 Traffic Court page has been updated to say:

For the time period July 6, 2020 to September 4, 2020, the following protocols will apply to Traffic Court procedure. This applies to matters involving tickets and charges for by-law and provincial offences, including offences under the Public Health Act, for both Adult and Youth.
Do not attend the courthouse anywhere in the province to deal with Traffic Court/Provincial Offence matters in person. Contact the Court handling your matter by telephone or email.



Does this mean that the trial is not going forward? Need some confirmation on this.

Good morning,

Thank you for your e-mail.

The trial set for ticket #REDACTED on August 17, 2020 will not be proceeding. On that date, this matter will again be adjourned to a future date. Please contact our office after August 17, 2020 to find out what the new date is.

The Crown Prosecutor's e-mail is [email protected]. If you wish, feel free to reach out to him in the meantime, to determine whether or not a resolution can be reached.

No I did not. But that's not the problem. You still to this day cannot enter the court due to Covid. Also, the notice of conviction says I was convicted on Aug. 17 for not appearing.
