Anyone know how long the shaw Black Friday deals last? I'm busy as hell today, and I expect Telus has fewer retention staff working on a Sunday as well. But I should have lots of time tomorrow.
Here’s the RFD thread for the Shaw deal:

    https://forums.redflagdeals.com/shaw...-card-2333874/

First post says they expired yesterday but might extend til Monday. If you’re willing to switch, post a message there saying you want a rep to call u and they will contact you

Spent some time on the phone with Telus last night. Got Pick 4+Crave/HBO for $60 (incl a couple 4K boxes), and Internet 150 for $50. No bill credit like some others were able to get, but I'm more or less happy with the deal and it's better than what I was paying before. Next time around if the deals are this good, I might actually just switch since what I'm still getting isn't as good as the Shaw deal.

I have Telus, pick 6, internet 150 for $85/ month.
I pay ~$130/ month total including home security (usually a movie or two rented)

Sunshine village has a big cyber Monday sale, 20% off most passes, cards and packages. Great deal.

We have the same but pay 210. Are you in the first year of the contract?

I’ve been on the same rate for ~4 years now, just renewed for two more years.
As soon as my “contract” expires I call in to cancel unless they renew the same rate.
    Never been a problem

How do you like the home security? Any better than anyone else?

ADT was terrible and I know Telus bought them.

Looks like I'll be on the phone for a while tomorrow. Thanks for the perspective.

One thing I hate about it is the motion activated camera gets triggered every few minutes when the alarm is activated. the damn furnace vent is on the back of the house where the camera is. The system only allows a certain amount of uploads per month. Once you hit that number, it won't record anything else. I'd rather just have a continuous recording that writes over itself every couple weeks. Door bell camera has worked well, door/window sensors have seemed to work well also ....

    @killaramos
I will mirror this, the camera’s are very sensitive, even when the sensitivity is on “low”.
Overall the system does what I want though, 3 cameras, 2 door sensors, and monitored security for $35/month

I got the same deal basically , i just mentioned the Black Friday deal for pick 6 and they put in the discounts (credits per month) without hesitation, the call took 10 mins (call back). Then i changed it to 4 theme + premium (crave/HBO) online and it ends up $110 including internet 150 for 2 years. Didnt get a bill credit since i'm an existing customer. I was 15 months into my initial contract. Signed for 24 months again.

The main Telus line sent me to the Quebec customer service and they can't access Albertan's account. I blame #WEXIT, lol.
    Anyway, I went from Pick 6 and 75/75 for $130/mo to Pick 4 +1 premium and 150/150 for $105 +tax.

I think some of you have lower, but it was a reasonably good outcome. The guy sure didn't seem happy during the call, and frankly neither was I, but we got where we needed to go.

Looks like the Vizio PX75 is completely gone from Costco’s website now. Looks like the sales accomplished their goal.

I ended up calling Telus about my complete garbage internet and got Pure fiber 300 for $60/mth for 12 months without a contract. I'll call again next November and get them to keep applying the same discount. I would have preferred shaw with all the shit I've dealt with with Telus but at the end of the day my laziness won.

Yeah been on Telus 100/30 (can't get fiber in Kincora) for $25/month for about 2 years now. Just called and got 6 more months at that price because of the Shaw deal. Would rather pay more for 300/300 but can't get it so not gonna complain @ $25.

Called Telus and was only on the phone for like 30min total. Ended up getting pick 6 and 150 Internet for 85$ plus 5 free movies. We also have security that is another 33$ I just mentioned how new customers get a bill credit and she through the free movies out. I am pleasantly surprised. We had been paying 200$ for a few months though....and wife has her cell with them. Not sure what she pays.....too much for sure. Thanks again @vengie

25% off contact lenses on Clearly.ca is the best deal you'll ever get from them. 6 months worth of dailies for $300 instead of $400 and they arrive likely Wednesday even with free shipping.

I called TELUS this weekend and I also got a great discount, I cancelled my cable after picking up three Amazon Firesticks. I cut my current TELUS bill in half!

    Nice work!
When it expires keep pushing to have them renew the deal.
It’s ~15 mins every two years. Easy peasy.

You get (I think) an extra $10/mo for having security in the bundle. I'm at $105, so you beat me by $10 even before that extra $10 for the bundle. Nice job.

Actually, you get $10 for for having a Telus cellphone, so that might be the difference.

As for cell costs, if you are paying anything close to the advertised plan prices, that's a bad deal.
