Wipers yes too. Exoshield has an Exocare program where for $40 i believe they will ship out 4 sets of new wipers in a year. but definitely a few factors contributes to delaminating.

Yep and if its within their standard warranty period, go back to your installer to have it replaced. if the shop/installer no longer does Exoshield, call their 1888 number and tell them. they will direct you to other installers.

My cars have magic wipers with embedded washer fluid, so I doubt they'd cover that in their plan. My E53 exoshield was fucked in under a year, got bad at around the 6 month point. Writing off the loss and removed it. Don't have the time or patience to go get it reinstalled regularly.

Bringing back an old thread, for those of you have removed it, any tips on how to safely remove the film? The exoshield on my wife's car has delaminated to a point that it is really difficult to see out of now on a sunny day. Should I just heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun and pull it off slowly? Then cleanup with goo gone and then Windex to clean the windshield after?

I had ShadowTint remove it for me. They told me that it comes off in chunks so that makes it annoying. Probably worth it to let the installer deal with it.

Hey everyone, just reviving this thread.

Has there been any improvement in the ExoShield's quality, especially regarding its de-lamination issue? My windshield's been getting hammered a lot lately. It's happening so often that I'm seriously thinking about giving ExoShield a try, instead of just replacing my windshield under insurance again.

Getting your windshield replaced by insurance is insanity imo. This is Alberta. Windshields are a wear item, and cheap enough .

If your car has features like visual driving aids, rain sensing wipers, front glass defrost heaters, etc the windshield likely costs more than a set of tires.

I'm sure my truck has the cheapest "advanced" windshield out there, and with a camera and defrost for that camera, it's like $330 from Cal-Alta. I would not be at all surprised if an average windsheild was eight or nine hundred bucks these days.

Windshields are highly vehicle dependent on price. My parents 2021 Porsche was only $380 at Crystal Glass but it has none of the safety bullswizzle.

Last quote I got from glass master, they quoted around 2.5K to swap out my windshield with a non-OEM brand, with the additional caveat there will be extra charges for calibration of all different sensors (rain, head-up display, driving assistance etc)

Camera calibration is key on windshield replacement now and not all shop has the access to calibrate.

NHTSA is working on mandating AEB as standard but it's not like you can buy a new car in 2023 without at least 1 forward camera anyway.

You're not gonna find a lot of sympathy around these parts.

I’m just going to put an extra windshield on my windshield to protect my windshield from doing windshield things
