Please make a video diary of you getting up at the crack of dawn and doing a 6am workout and telling us about how it changed your life

Also, ordered the Elite Direto X. It arrived and I'm hoping to set it up on Friday.
haha but first i have to build a bamboo floored zen workout room with floor to ceiling windows for the mountain view. that will be the only way i can get through a ride.

Yup, nothing like mountain views when you're staring at a screen of someone sweaty yelling at you

Could be more motivating than staring at avatars on zwift pulling away from you and you can't catch up.

I'm actually using my kickr regularly finally, but i just don't like zwift haha seems so cheese, looks like an N64 game.. i'd rather just watch sports and TV while i ride.

What do you guys like about it? the fact that there's other riders to compete/ride with? maybe i need to give it another chance. it was kind of confusing first go.

Firstly it makes spending time on a trainer much more tolerable. The simulated resistance stimulates both mwy mind and my body to some degree. Secondly, yes the other riders do give me motivation, either I want to catch them or not get passed and dropped. This is more so when you are riding in an event. The third is not limited to Zwift. There are a ton of sessions that you can choose from for structured training. Unless I'm doing a session which keeps my tempo low, I'm usually working pretty hard on my own. I wouldn't be able to watch or listen to anything. Of course, different strokes for different folks.

The workout plans, and group rides. Not sure about the quality of the workout plans, but it is probably better than me just trying to mash the pedal for an hour. Oh, and the in-game achievements / "loots"... :P bikes, wheels, jerseys, socks, shoes, gloves, helmets... and none of that is in-game purchase.

If you’re bored with zwift then I don’t think you’ve gotten yourself into a serious climb yet! Haha... at times I’d rather put it into PIP mode, but when you’re doing a climb... have no idea how much is left and trying to pace and not get passed. It works for me. Graphics are weak-ish... but I guess they depend on the platform you’re using. ie. gaming PC has shadows, 4K Apple tv has more detail than iPhone, etc

Would be cool if they took steering into consideration and made it possible to eat shit, also braking... then mountain biking would be possible... that would be cool, but better than someone on a spin bike yelling at you or whatever these new stationary bikes do

Oh... and linking to strava, just like in real rides keeps me going. Segments!!!! Haha, KOM on a zwift segment would be very impressive

i think i'll give it another go, wath some youtube how to's, try and get into it.

it would be cool to convert strava rides into zwift so you could ride stuff you usually ride. even without graphic or just BS ones.

I've found the workout programs to be pretty decent as long as you know your current ability level and what you want to target fitness wise. Right now I'm doing the ABSA Cape Epic workouts as it's about the right duration of training for my mid May 6.5 hr mountain bike race.
Zwift racing and group rides are pretty decent too especially if you have a nice pack to compete in or a good leader for the group rides. Zwift is certainly more visually stimulating than staring at a wall and my work rate is waaaay higher than if I was on a setup that doesn't measure power / convert power to speed and mileage.

I also do it to drop lilmira's ass in-game and in real life.

Which brings me to the part I dislike about Zwift. People with uncalibrated / inaccurate / weight doped setups. They usually get flagged in races on zwiftpower.com though.

I did the crit rave when they opened them up. Think average time around the loop was like 4 minutes or something. There was a guy doing it in like 43 seconds haha

I do like it for racing. Have raced a few guys at work which adds to it as well

I think there is another software that does that... imports street view for graphics

So mean I'm saving this for my next AA meeting.

You can create any route and load it to your garmin units (520 and up I think) to do simulated ride with smart trainer. It's not very good from the review as the elevation profile is not smooth. Strava used to have an app similar to that for you to ride any strava segment but they killed it.

Half my weight will be under the minimum Zwift weight setting, which I think is around 40kg. I'm under 60kg.
