The trans livery is superb. Worth the billions for sure.

Is that that the equivalent to spending your c.e.r.b. money on a new flat screen TV?

The amount of money Air Canada bleeds, livery is more like buying takeout for both lunch and dinner with your CERB.

It was a brand new aircraft - it needed a paintjob anyways. What they put on it doesn't change the cost...

Oh I’ll bet AC paid someone a boatload to at least design the livery. Don’t be naive that it “didn’t cost any more” than painting it the same color as every other plane on the assembly line.

Maybe it’s worth it, but it defs cost more.

It's actually incredibly cheap to paint an aircraft, in comparison to every other cost of running one it's probably the cheapest part.

I think most of us were joking/chirping about the paint and the bailout. At least I hope so.

It's an existing livery that is on a few aircraft. The design "cost" was sunk before the pandemic. It had it's debut on the A319

It was an existing design already, and the cost was no different than any other aircraft. When an airline places an aircraft order, they will agree to a price with the manufacturer based on volume ordered, options, etc. Paint is included in the "base price" of an aircraft (I use the term loosely, there really isn't such a thing as an MSRP for a plane) and the airline will cut a cheque for the aircraft order, say 20 airframes. The paint doesn't cost more on one aircraft than it does another, no matter what scheme you choose.
