I don't know much about India, I've never been there. But what the fuck is up with the seemingly endless stream of rape-related news from that country? Are rapes actually super common there? Is this some kind of biased coverage from "western" media? Is this an equally large problem in other countries?

This is the most solid argument to implement a social credit system of mass surveillance before it is too late. Humans have never hit as many billions of citizens in one area at one time. Noone knows the potential really bad outcomes that may occur, and its outright crazy to not fully document and observe mass behavior, if not praise or penalize based on what is observed.

Yeah, so why is my news feed full of rapes in India and not ones in the USA? It's not like I see out news from the subcontinent. I read "regular" news from North America, and the BBC. You'd think things happening closer to me would be overrepresented.

I'd guess that there is a big difference in what constitutes rape in both countries. When rape happens in India, as mentioned, it's multiple guys physically beating a woman and forcefully fucking her. In USA, you slap a girls ass and it is sexual harassment/rape all tied up in the same statistic. But I haven't researched I enough to say anything for certain.

Also, rapes(real rapes) are most likely severely unreported in places like India. Most women would not want something like to be known about them, because they're considered useless at that point.
