My daily driver has been washed three times this year, January 30th, May 1st and September 6th. Saving so much money on car washes...

Even during the colder days this year, I'm having zero luck keeping the car clean after a wash. That beet juice shit just kicks up regardless of temps. I don't remember the last time I went through this much windshield washer fluid either.

yeah, I usually buy 1 box of 4 bottles from Costco per year. That's for 2 cars. I've already broken the seal on a second box.

Did you hand wash it or go for the double meat touchless wash?

My man. That's how we do it. Handwash until you need that undercarriage wash with the sparkly clean look.

It was my first time ever paying for a touchless wash (Co Op) yesterday but I had to wait 20 minutes to get in

Was nice sitting there browsing Reddit boobs while my car was cleaned though

If you've never installed a coating before and it's your first time, expect to spend 20-30 hours to do it properly.

A new car with "decent" paint should take an experienced professional ~10 hours to complete.

There's a new trend of coating specialists who do this work in a lot less time. They are not faster, they are just skipping steps.
I've noticed a lot of shops have popped up now that do ppf, ceramics, etc. Who is considered the best local ceramic specialists these days?

If in Calgary, my vote goes to Detailed Solutions. Nathans the owner, great guy! Expanded to 3 locations, 1 in Edmonton, 1 in Calgary and 1 in Vancouver. He'll detail your car/ceramic it, and give it a photoshoot and give you a photo book.

I've seen Rainier mentioned a few times. Not sure which shop he operates from though

*Forgot to mention, @gpomp does details/ceramic. From his Instagram, cars look fresh af. I'd def go to him if local. I think my cousin is his apprentice. Duncan and son.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I’ve heard really good things about Jed Bouscal at Porsche as well.

He's good but he's super expensive because you pay Porsche markup. I originally contacted him and he was super helpful and knowledgeable, but Porsche pricing is 3 times what it's worth.

Rainer @ Nano Defense is your best bet for the same level of work without Porsche pricing IMHO.

Back when Jed was independent I used him. Was totally satisfied with his work.

For you guys washing your cars when it's cold, if you don't have heated parking, make sure you wipe down your door sills so your weather stripping doesn't freeze and rip when you open your door the next day.
Also worthwhile to go over all your seals with silicone lube on a towel.

I wash my car 2-3x per week even when it is super cold and it helps a ton. Don't forget the hood, sunroof, trunk..etc.

Anyone know which Petro car washes are touchless in Calgary? Their website shows only 2, and in the NE. That can't be right.

That $199 3 month pass seems appealing this year haha.

I have been 303-ing all my vehicle's seals for as long as I can remember - I assumed most people did this but based on your comment, maybe not.

303 or silicone lube on seals is a great idea, and most people should do it. Although that being said, I don't.

Shell offers a a similar pass available on their smartphone app, which makes using it on multiple vehicles (or sharing amongst multiple users) more convenient. It helps that the Shell nearest me is touch-less while the Petros are not...

    Interesting...
There is a new carwash that has opened up near me (SE Great White Carwash) and they have a $45 a month special ($135 three months).
