If you hated socialism that much, you would never join a union job, which 99% of government jobs are.
So... our democracy will be forever socialist since anyone who thinks or wants to push the system further to the right can't take part since the existing system is so far to the left?

Which doesn't begin to answer the question at all.

Dare I ask, where was the "grift"?
Doesn't this refer to conning money out of the party to pay for his kids' private school?

    2010 poll say 52% Pro-Choice, 27% Pro-Life and 10% is neither.

Not sure if there is a newer poll but standing by or listening to Pro-Life population in a democracy is political suicide. Even Harper knew this in the 2000s.
    The other 11%, pro-cauliflower?
    Will fuck off, again.

Now I am sure he wouldn't do it but what would stop Trudeau to try and get an election called while the PC's are looking for a new leader? If his party had the funds and put in a confidence vote, could he end up with his majority gov't that he wants?

That'd be one hell of a hail mary gamble after barely sneaking in with a minority government and losing the popular vote.

You know we have "mostly" fixed election dates?

    44th Canadian federal election

The 44th Canadian federal election will take place on or before October 16, 2023 to elect members of the House of Commons to the 44th Parliament of Canada. The latest possible date of the vote is determined by the fixed-date provisions of the Canada Elections Act, which requires federal elections to be held on the third Monday in October in the fourth calendar year after the polling day of the previous election.

Not a giant shock, I think he's got a good shot at winning and then beating Trudeau.

If the cons campaign on a centrist stance re: social issues and a policy of fiscal restraint, a sock puppet will beat Trudeau.

It used to be this way. But more and more people are buying into nonsense economic and monetary theories. cough: millenials :cough:

There is a huge tolerance for public debt with the younger voter.

Liberal won on the moderates that weighted progressive social issues higher than fiscal conservatism.

I see more Liberal will vote Con/PC more than Con/PC switch to Liberals.

Which should be a no brainer. Virtually everyone is on board with the whole social issue stuff of live and let live, as long as they aren't trying to push the envelope. But they can't vote left when those social issues go hand in hand with economically ass fisting the entire country dry.

Feeling 'betrayed,' social conservatives look for a Conservative leadership candidate they can believe in

Canadian social conservatives who say they're tired of being written off and ignored by Conservative Party politicians are searching for a leadership candidate they can get behind.

"We have people that we're talking to. Nobody has come out to say, 'Yes. I'm going to [run],'" said Jeff Gunnarson, national president of Campaign Life Coalition, a group that advocates against abortion.
... there's a lot of pressure coming from the Red Tories or the media that say we don't have a voice, or say we shouldn't even have a voice. And that's just ridiculous."
So the Cons have that to look forward to.

I think MacKay is their best shot by far as well. With the right policy and not creepy campaigns I think they could pull the centrist 'sensical' vote from the libs.

No No No, we need a female to run against him so we can make his identity politics schtick implode and consume him.

The sexists and the socons, like it’s been said they aren’t going anywhere.

But Trudeau being the man standing in the way of the first real female PM. THAT would be a hilarious election.
