Identity politics aside, I'll be voting conservative this go around unless they decide to push a heavy conservative social agenda. I'm one of those people that wants to live and let live; fucking with gay rights and abortion rights are deal-breakers for me.
So whoever they bring in better not fuck it up.
End of the day all of our postal codes are worthless votes anyway. TBH I will be surprised if Trudeau survives this term anyway. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Dunno. Our premier has done a really great job alienating Alberta from the rest of the country. They may vote Trudeau just to spite us.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I say stupid shit all the time.
It's funny, I consider myself a true blue conservative, but at the end of the day do what you want if it makes you happy. If gay people want to marry or have the same rights then let them have it. If someone wants an abortion, go for it. It's downright silly to legislate contentious moral issues. If you want to be a gun owning transvestite go for it.
More centrist really is the way to go I think.

I have thought for a while that Rempel could have a fighting chance. A strong female candidate would be a great path to swinging some of the lefties towards the right.
Apparently it’s Rempel Garner now. Not sure if she got married or something but noticed it on a billboard while driving.
Dumb idea for a public figure imo, imagine the confusion if she was PM. “Prime minister Rempel Garner” people thinking her first name is Rempel

This attitude is also part of the problem. You go way further with honey than you do vinegar, but I guess us Albertans want to learn that lesson the hard way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Most liberals are proponents of a minimum wage - which is the opposite of "live and let live".
Just one example where liberal policies are designed to restrict freedoms. Everyone wants to be "socially liberal, fiscally conservative." And all of the Miss America contestants want to end world hunger. It's just platitudes.
Most people do NOT want live and let live, unless it's their own little set of issues.
You need to accept that next to nobody outside of a select few agree with libertarianism. It doesn't benefit them; it benefits people like you and I that have high incomes and capital to invest. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'll add: I think that libertarianism (the non wacky religious flavour, but more the Classical Liberal flavour), actually benefits everyone across all income spectrums. It promotes grass-roots entrepreneurialism, which is the actual lifeblood of an economy. It helps to protect against rent-seeking by connected elites, etc.

We never tried Honey, we tried Money. Honey would be kind words, emotional support and "singing from the same choir sheet" or whatever that expression is. Alberta in particular, has never tried that. Not sure we could though, we might be cynical, but we are bad liars.
