Looks like Andrew Sheer has finally succumbed to the pressure and has resigned.

Thanks be to baby jebus that Scheer is gone. Too bad he didn't have the decency to do it that night like a good loser. What a worthless waste of skin, he's the sole reason Trudeau is still PM.

Global News is already calling it a scandal and saying he's quitting due to being caught squandering party funds on his children's public school fees.

Will be interesting to see if they are correct.

I think this is a really good example where they screwed up the previous leadership race in that Maxime Bernier handily won every round of voting but lost round 13 to Andrew Scheer by 2% of the vote (700 votes).

Why I feel Peter McKay is a better leadership candidate than Andrew Scheer, I think it's still not as good as Maxime Bernier. The last time we had a conservative leader from Quebec they won two consecutive majority governments. I don't think that is something Peter McKay can deliver.

I FIRMLY believe they fixed that vote.

Regarding McKay, if he won't have the decency to march in a pride parade and not worry about other basic human dignities (like the right to choose) I doubt he'll win either.

There’s no way they’d report that if it wasn’t.

Fixing is an interesting way of putting it. If you mean signing up a bunch of party members for the votes that didn't exist before, 100%. Bernier had that locked down till the final vote.

McKay is a social conservative as well? If that's the case we are doomed.

If the conservatives actually go ahead and elect a centrist, or even a slightly right-centrist leader then Trudeau better start packing his bags.

    Default Scheer is out...who's next?

With Andrew Scheer stepping down today who are the likely candidates to replace him? Peter MacKay coming back in maybe?

I think he should have done blackface and then apologized. May have had a better chance of winning.

I like McKay, but Ambrose or Rempel would be good too. Would also help capture some women votes I think
