    This.

You have to do this math first before even looking at the trailer weight and if it is in your towing numbers. My truck has a 1700lbs payload. I know with me and the family in the truck and supplies, I try to keep any tongue weight <700lbs. That way I can keep the truck stable and not worry about overloading the suspension, especially in the rear. a WD hitch helps a lot with this.

But yeah, this topic has been flogged to death and back again many times over. Long story short, don't even try. But if you decide to, as others have said, record it for the lulz.
Have you taken your setup to the scales? 700 lbs of tongue weight sounds like a lot.

Not this new truck, but my '16 and '12 F150s I did. and 700lbs is a fair chunk, you are right, but not so much when you think you are towing 7, 8, 9000lbs and the general rule of thumb is that 10% of the trailer should be tongue weight.

yeah, but you also have a 3/4. I could go a lot heavier too, but, with all the weight in the truck, I try to keep the tongue weight down. Now, if I am hauling equipment around, I don't mind increasing that number up to 12-1300lbs at all.

Sorta relevant but thought this was interesting. It shows why tongue weight is important.

That sedan is more a truck than a lot of new SUV’s are.

Some charming 75 year old lady owned this beauty. Said she’s towed it all around Canada.
