Well, according to NASA: If it takes 1,000 technologies to put a man on mars, the USA has 800 of them and China has 80 - Then it is not worth it to collaborate because the USA has more to "lose" and the final goal can't be achieved anyhow.

In my mind, nothing I say is a conspiracy or rumor - just greater than 50% chance of being truth.

The new rumor is that the Quantum computer was pushed by China for the sole reason of cracking 2048-bit encryption that the US used for decades. Again, USA has so many more secrets to lose, it only makes sense that the USA would be the last to push the tech that ultimately destroys their own IP. It would also be retarded to share factual data with other nations so that they have successful moon landings, depending on how "dickwadish" you consider the USA to be.

BTW: The $20 lightning cable that requires active circuitry to determine if the cable has degraded below 10 watts capacity, is simply the worst charging design in history. If you ask me. Even a $2 Micro USB can do 15 watts.

I can say this now because it looks like Apple is finally ditching lightning cables (for power) forever. A true case of USA 10x more expensive, and literally worse.

China and Japan have always had more advanced "metallurgy" than the USA, no doubt the reason that solar panels cannot be produced in the USA without being 10x more expensive. If you ask British people, the North American household three prong electrical outlet is pure retard.

There are several post-lithium technologies in the works but graphene and carbon nanotubes seem to be the most promising right now. Imagine fully charging an electric car in 5 minutes or only having to charge your smartphone once a week. Huawei already has excellent algos even for LiPo battery life, I only need to charge my P30 once every two days or so.

Wake me up when Solid State Battery becomes norm.

Cheap or poorly designed LiPos are a hazard, or of people abuse them or ignore basic usage guidelines, otherwise they are extremely reliable overall.

Sort of. I'd say Samsung is pretty reliable and they fucked up pretty bad. Everyone is obsessed with fast charge times and try to push things to the max. They are still prone to physical damage as well.

You can pick your smartphone model, and google "battery fire" or "explodes" or whatever and you will see no brand is immune to it. The biggest reason the Note 7 had such a bad time was because unfortunately it happened on a plane so it got all the press coverage due to the obvious hazard that created.

I've personally owned hundreds of LiPo products in my life and literally never experienced a single issue or failure (even on the ultra-cheap hobby LiPos), but I take care of them meticulously. Also think of how many smartphones are out there, and battery fires and the like are few and far between, at least in terms of what is reported. Overall they are very reliable.

Automotive grade should arrive in 2024/25. But expect to see these in cell phones between now and then.
