Not exactly.

AM is on its way of going bust. Lawrence Stroll bought in to save the company on the cheap, and raising additional cash through his investment firm with his backing.

Racing Point is a money pit for Lawrence Stroll to bankroll his son Lance's career. Prior to racing point, he was dumping a boat load of money into Williams so Lance could have a drive. Might as well dump that money into his own team. It's still a losing proposition for him, but with AM ownership, he can funnel some AM money into it to lessen how much he has to invest there.

Essentially, Lawrence Stroll and his parters are paying 180m GBP into AM, so that AM can partially fund Racing Point (presumably much more than 180m over long term), with the team being called AM for marketing purposes. It's a no loss situation for Stroll, if the marketing value increases AM brand awareness, he wins. If AM burns through money and goes under, he will have bled more of AM to offset what he would've continued to pay into Racing Point, and probably still end up with a Valkyrie as a bonus lol.

Anyone know if there is a new season of Drive to Survive coming out? Should be fun to watch behind the scenes last year. In regards to Aston Martin, rumour has it that there is a Valkyrie coming to Calgary. Let's hope AM stays in business long enough to get these cars into production. As for Vettel at Ferrari - never been a fan. I think he is overrated. He won championships because the cars he drove were far superior.

Yep, February 28, 2020 is when Season 2 of Drive to Survive is expected to come out.

It might be blasphemy but I planned on going for the Saturday only because I will have tickets to see a Barca football match on the Sunday. I think the race ends like 2 hrs before the game starts, I figure i'll be able to see a full race in sept (Italy). But there are only so many years left of Messi playing for Barca.

I plan to figure out the trains well ahead of time. However, that's a great tip. My dad + wife don't care for F1 like I do... so it being a huge hassle would make it even worse.

Hamilton is starting contract talks with Merc. I see Vettle getting dropped at some point and Hamilton him going to Ferrari.

Ferrari signed Leclerc long term. They're looking for a #2 for him, or expect Vettel to be #2. Hamilton won't be going to Ferrari, even though EJ says he is.

Looks like F1 TV Pro is now available in Canada (allows for live streams instead of waiting a few days like last year). Can't seem to find any news on what was negotiated with TSN as iirc they held the exclusive broadcasting rights. This also looks to be fairly new as I looked at the F1 site earlier on in the week and F1 TV Pro wasn't available at that time.

Has more old school Williams in it to me.

Racing Point looks like a carbon copy of the Mercedes... They have been using Mercedes wind tunnel since May. Think they will be a tough team to beat in the midfield and possibly on some tracks the front runners.

Think we will have a battle on our hands this year between Mercedes and RB. Honda now thinks they have the same power as Ferrari plus party mode.
