I think expect half when it’s really cold is a reasonable expectation.

I heard today that NYPD highway patrol bought a bunch of model 3’s. Hopefully they don’t need to go far in the winter because last I checked NY gets properly cold lol

I also love that I am ruining ES’s PHEV thread.

Sorry if this has been asked before but what effect does Winter have on range on the newer Teslas? I was watching some guys 1-year-review of a Model 3 in Canada and he said the range prediction went down by 5km for every 1km he drove in the Winter. This also seems like it would be an issue for longer trips if you are relying on the car to calculate how long you can drive before hitting the next charge station. He didn't mention anything about a battery warmer which I assume is something that you would want for Calgary, if available. Is that BS or is there a way around that?
I think there's a built in battery warmer. At least on other EV and PHEVs, it kicks in below X temperature while plugged in, or if not plugged in, you can program it start warming itself at a certain time.

I'm both mad at, and participating in, the derail.

Hyundai bringing PHEV version of Santa Fe starting summer 2021 as a 2022 model. No word on availability in Alberta but expect it to be delayed compared to other provinces.

Don't think any Calgary dealerships have any Santa Fe PHEV available. I do see some plain 2021 HEV ones in inventory.

My Hybrid 22 Tucson Hybrid is on 4 month order. They didn't even consider allowing me to order the PHEV

Guessing it'll be late next year before there's any around.

Not sure if its worth a new thread but for full EVs, whats looking interesting in the next year or two? Seems like a lot of the big manufacturers are entering the market over the next couple years. Also seems to be a bunch of startups that have never sold a vehicle before getting billions and setting up plants. Any of those seem interesting?

    Audi e-tron series
    Bmw i4/ix
    Chevy Silverado ev
    Ford explorer ev / lightning
    Hyundai ioniq 5
    Kia ev6

The Lucid seems unreal. According to the journalists at least.

GMC Hummer is their next EV. could be a few years before Silverado EV.

Don't forget Rivian is just starting to deliver.

Lucid seems pretty much a wildcard if they will succeed.
Lordtown motors is for sure going bankrupt end of 2022.

Really fascinated as to when we see an inventory build of PHEV or EV here in Albeerta.

So far even some models already released are mostly theoretical.

I think Lucid is (well) past the wildcard stage, aren't they? I hope so, anyways.
