After a year of use: primarily wife's commuter, weekend family hauler, and trackday race car tow vehicle, I'm happy to report that the Cayenne has been an excellent choice. It is plugged in every day and has been nearly flawless. The only problem we have had is with the Porsche wall charging unit. It has many of the benefits of an EV, with the range of an ICE. Mileage is up to 15,000Km and 10,640km of that has been on electric alone. It gets the advertised 54km of electric range in the summer pretty consistently even with the big wheel and tire package.

Does it have electric heat or does it rely on ice for heat in the winters?

Most phevs bury that detail in the specs and it’s a Bitch to find.

I believe it is electric

It has a heat pump, but I'm pretty sure there is also a ICE coolant heat exchanger somewhere too. You can activate it through the app to pre-cool or pre-heat the car; we have it on a schedule to be warmed in the morning while it's still plugged in.
