I believe all the rav4 primes are allocated to provinces with provincial subsidies, which is why we’re getting shafted. Was similar story when I was looking at Pacifica hybrid, alberta got very few allocations.

Curses!
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Ironically, total price of a RAV4 prime is still more in those provinces, even with the incentives. So what's the point of only allocating them there?

Rebate aside, I believe BC and QC has California style mandate. You don't sell enough batteries vehicles, you will have to buy credits. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Right now I believe only Prairies Provinces and Ontario doesn't have any rebate for PHEV/BEV.
You'll be even more mad when you learn that it stands for "Plug-in Hybrid-Electric Vehicle". Should be PHV or PIHEV. The acronym is messed up.

Shitty acronyms are nothing new.
Since I may be loosing my mind... Looking at the lower cost subcompacts around - can't help but notice how many gen1 Prius's are much cheaper than the Yaris/echo options (yeah I still prefer Toyota).
Out of curiosity, I was looking at replacement battery packs - since I'd assume that's the primary issue... And those are only 2k$. It's intriguing as an option since that's guaranteed access to those hov lanes.
Any major issues with the original Prius's that I should be aware of?
Very reliable, just awful to drive and look stupid. That's why they are cheap.

Aren’t the seats made of canola oil or some nonsense?

I mean look at the spark/Aveo/wave/bolt and the Yaris and echo - none of them are going to make anyone happy.. so it's largely a hold your nose and pick the least worst option. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Drive them all. They are all bad in a few ways, but the Prius is bad in an additional different way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yeah I've tried to make myself like a fit - but I don't fit in a fit... Has been a consistent problem for me with Hondas. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Partly why micra isn't on the list.
OmG the Aveo... Is that still a thing? I've never ever been in a car that immediately infuriated me simultaneously, on so many fronts like the Aveo. So terrible in every way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
