    Is it gas or electric?

From what I read, the only disadvantage of those seems to be your tools and anything you have in storage containers stays cold and doesn't warm up. Did you find that to be the case or is everything pretty warm?

Man I want to see what happens when the complex hybrid drivetrain has a hiccup and you are stranded in -35 wearing shorts and sandals

They do this every winter. Not unique.

Also not unique, the ExtraSlow system in effect:

No, it starts because I put it on a charger in the cold weather.

Oh didn't see it being a charger

Pretty sure my truck used all 800cca today to start... even the blower for heat was screaming.

I've got a massive 155,000 BTU force air furnace (twice the size of my house one) that I bought for $50 on Kijiji a decade or so ago.

For reference, my friend has the same one in his commercial shop space which is two storeys of open air, lol. I'm pretty sure the long term costs of running it have been much higher than just buying a normal garage heater new, but whatever, it heats the garage back to temp in about 30 seconds after the door is closed.
155,000BTU, do the plastic bits on your car get soft and malleable very quickly too?

    That's a really personal question.

Those of you with natural gas fireplaces, check the exhaust vents. My basement fireplace, which we rarely use, and just sits on pilot light, froze it's exhaust shut today. Was dumping some natural gas into the basement for a short while.
Unclogged the frost/ice with a screwdriver, but since we rarely use it, also turned off the pilot light and gas valve until this cold snap is over.

4Runner has never had issues starting, even after sitting for days. Typically plugged in. Not sure what the rebranded Toyota batteries are but the one I have is fantastic.

It was dumping NG into the house WHILE the pilot was lit?

I suspect it wasn't much. Just a bare little bit of smell.

I just worry way more if it’s somehow flowing and not getting lit by the pilot. That, is scary.

Argh, when you say it like that it does sound scary.
