A nice light drizzle at my house right now. No hail or wind.

I drove south on Deerfoot a bit after the rain had started. Northbound was flooded and I saw a Civic in the middle of it. I had to get off at Peigan just to play it safe.

Edit: Correction it was a BMW not a Civic..

It's been doing that regularly for 20+ years. I remember standing at the top of the hill watching cars float after a storm... That would have been 97-98ish.

Though I think some of the development 10+yrs ago in the 12st/32nd neck of the woods has made it worse.

I worked for 4 years at an office off of 32nd ave NE - we had dozens of massive storms (including hail big enough to turn on the car alarm) and never an issue at that location from 2008-2012. It was usually DF and southland that got watered in.

pffffttt, you have to sleep train yours better - mine sleeps through pretty much anything as we never tip toed around him when he was young (did construction outside his room, vacuum, etc.) :p (I heard the same bang at 330pm)

I think it's more dependent on the individual. If you're a light sleeper, I don't think you can be trained even as a child.

That said, we're extremely lucky that our kids sleep thru shit too. Last year we had a house maybe 8 houses down that exploded 3x from cars blowing up and woke up the entire neighborhood. Slept through it all haha.

Green bin. Fertilizer with other shit reacted and started a huge garage fire, burnt hot enough to light cars on fire on driveway and blew the fuck up.

    So basically, Nenshi's fault.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard and makes no sense. My kid has slept through a whole basement development and the birth of his sister in the room down the hall. The thunder woke him up at the tail end of a nap which are usually lighter sleeps for anyone not just kids. It has nothing to do with sleep training...

You are referring to one specific noise where I am referring to a whole sleep training philosophy. Kids who are sleep trained in an environment where everyone tip toes around them, will end up being lighter sleepers in life. This is true in my immediate and extended family. All my cousins have had the same discussion.

Also, there was a :p on the end of the sentence which meant that it was not to be taken that seriously. Thats exactly why we have emoticons. Of course even the best sleepers will wake up with a thunder bang.
